I didn't book a room here expecting five-star luxury, just a nice place to relax and enjoy the scenery. But for the price, I imagined there would be at least standard amenities in the rooms (other than TV and WiFi, which they explicitly state that they don't have). But the room did not even offer a hairdryer. I'm not sure if the desk would have provided one had I asked, but I wasn't about to trudge outside to the main lodge in 35-degree weather with wet hair (no phones). However, it didn't really matter, as there was no outlet in the bathroom anyway.
The bathroom fixtures were severely dated and not that clean; the baseboard heater was adequately powered but clicked near-constantly the whole night. The lounge and restaurant both close before 9 PM, so bring a book or go to bed early!
I'll give this a '2', however, because the restaurant served a very good breakfast (order from the menu - the buffet is overpriced), and there really are otters living in the lake. They put on a nice show at breakfast!
