I stayed for the first time at The Inn at Windsor in October 1997 and since then 3 or 4 more times, the last time in October 2007 with my partner André.
Well, after having travelled all over New England and aslo have been to many beautiful B & B's between South Carolina and Maine, I really can tell that The Inn at Windsor deserves the first prize for being the most beautiful of them all.
It's an old complex of houses (a former apothecary from the 18th century) with beautiful rooms. Each room has a different interior and the beds are very comfortable. The rooms have wooden shutters, so you really can sleep longer in the morning, because the sun won't wake you up :).
I agree with the other reviewers, Holly's breakfast is stunning and I've never experienced better food in any other inn.
Moreover she is the most charming host one could expect.
There's nothing more beautiful than a long weekend getaway in October at the Inn at Windsor enjoying the fall foliage in Vermont.
