My husband and I stayed at Shearer Hill Farm with my father for a weekend. For the cost, the accommodations were well above my expectations, and we have high expectations, especially in terms of cleanliness. Our hosts, Bill and Patti were very easy to talk to and helpful. My husband is lactose-intolerent, and they went out of their way to accommodate his needs for breakfast. The breakfasts were delicious, and the baked apples were so yummy. The breakfast room was very nice, sunlit, with a nice view. For my husband, the location wasn't too "out in the middle of nowhere" but it was secluded enough for me to feel fully relaxed. There were enough nooks and crannies on the property for my inner 10-year-old to explore. The area was great for my dad to walk. The hammock was just perfect, we enjoyed feeding apples to the cows, we played football on the dirt road, walked around the pond across the street in the morning, and even dared to take the paddle boat out once. There's also a friendly sheep who enjoyed being fed grass, a lovely garden, and fire pit. It's not a resort, and it's not a plush, expensive B + B, but it's exactly my kind of relaxing weekend retreat. Also, eat at Wahoo's!
