“A True Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

My family stayed one night at the Nutmeg Inn because I wanted to "get away" and just relax for a day, and I really cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience. It truly is a wonderful B&B, and after visiting this past weekend, I have already booked my next stay there! All of these reviews are spot-on. The innkeeper Doug was gracious and kind (I did not get a chance to meet the other innkeeper Geo, but he did cook our breakfast, which was out of this world). Wendy, the other person who works there, was so nice as well, as well as the other staff I met. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly, and had a mini-tour of the inn. It is gorgeous, quaint and cozy. The pictures on the website do not do justice to the real charm and beauty of the inn. They were more than accomodating to us, and did not have a problem with our dog being with us (she is small and well-behaved, and they just ask that the dog not be in the room if you are not in there, which was not a problem for us). They gave us a room which was perfect for my family (toddler and a newborn, dog, hubby and myself), and it was more than spacious with a beautiful fireplace. It also looks like a great place for couples to visit, as the ambiance is very intimate. I honestly have never felt so relaxed in a long time, and I can't wait to get back there. I wish them all the best of luck; it is obvious they put a lot of love and care into what they do!

“Great weekend stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

A wonderfully updated B&B with a very warm and welcoming staff! Spent a ladies' weekend there and had a blast--we couldn't stop talking about how great it was. With delicious homemade breakfast in the mornings, and being about 15 min from Mt. Snow, you can't go wrong! Doug, Geo, Wendy, Millie the dog, and the entire Nutmeg Inn staff couldn't have done a better job to make our stay and our entire trip amazing! Looking forward to staying again.

“Great Vermont getaway destination”

Located on the outskirts of the beautiful town of Wilmington, the Nutmeg Inn provides a cozy, quaint, and welcoming base to explore southern Vermont. Breakfasts are tasty, rooms are comfortable, and the owners and staff are kind and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Rooms upstairs (11+12) are probably preferable to those located on the first floor closed to the act...

“Very charming and cozy”

Me and boyfriend had a NYE weekend planned in Mount Snow, VT, but decided last minute to head down towards that direction a day earlier, so we booked one night at Nutmeg Inn, because it was very close to West Dover (we didn't actually realize how close) and the price seemed reasonable. Little did we know, we found ourselves at the most charming Inn with great host, Doug, greeting us. That's when we realized that we should've stayed at Nutmeg Inn for the whole entire trip. The place is very nicely decorated with clean cozy rooms and comfy living room with fire place and a cute small bar, that adds a nice touch. The breakfast was DELICIOUS!!! We got to chat with the waitress that works there, and she told us that Doug and Geo are new owners, and not only do they treat the guest nice, but the staff as well is well treated, which I think is very important. Doug also recommended us a place to get dinner, the place down the road called Old Red Mill, where the food was fantastic! We will definitely be back!!!

“We Don't Know Everything”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

My wife and I stayed for two nights over New Years. What's been said about the Nutmeg is all true; charming, great breakfast, clean. But what I think I liked most about the Nutmeg was that the Owners (Doug & Geo) were not pretentious know-it-all's. They truly but themselves out there by asking; 'what do you think we did right.. what could we improve on'. We tend to void B&B's because they often are owned by well seasoned B&B managers that treat you as trespassers instead of guests. The Nutmeg is NOT a B&B, it truly is an "INN", where you are included.

The Nutmeg is nicely appointed, their 5 common rooms decorated with comfortable chairs and wonderful artwork. If you are not skiing you can hang out and read all day in peace and quiet. We did slip on our hiking boots and Stbilicers for a hike that started just behind the Nutmeg; we followed a snowmobile track for about 3.5 miles that looped back to the Inn; a nice touch if you want to avoid driving.

Room Tip: Room 9 was great, Fireplace and king bed.. all of the rooms we could see looked charming.
