My wife & I met in Wilmington 36 years ago. Well, we took a trip down memory lane to revisit Wilmington and felt what better place to go than "The White House". We were not disappointed!
The owner greeted us and willingly showed us some options we had as far as room accommodations were concerned. We stuck with our original choice, a room with a king sized bed & wood-burning fireplace. Despite some fierce snow/ice storms before & during our arrival, the Inn was warm and welcoming. We had a very nice dinner at one of the 2-3 places open in Wilmington for 2 nights for dinner, then went back to the room, lit a wood fire in the fireplace and reminisced. We had dinner at The White House our final night & it was great!!
Because of the severe weather conditions that existed & were predicted to persist, we had the entire place practically to ourselves. Everything inside was immaculate & well appointed. For a few days at the Inn we enjoyed a wonderful country breakfast every morning [which is included with the price of the room]. There were wood-burning & pellet-burning stoves going all during the daylight & evening hours throughout the common areas. The atmosphere was very warm, cozy & comfortable. We played pool, swam in the indoor pool, & used the steam bath. Went "tubing' on the big hill there.
Loved our stay-we would willingly go back [you'll meet Zorro, no kidding]- T & K
