“never again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 March 2011

we were only there for the weekend, and we wont go again.
the amenities they list were tubing (sorry closed for the day due to private family party)
sauna, steamroom and pool (also inaccessible due to swarms of unsupervised children all over them for most of the day we were there) i have kids, so i usually dont mind, but this was out of control!
quiet and romantic (see above)
food was excellent. if you go to wilmington, maybe eat there, but dont stay.

“Very disappointing”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 March 2011

I have driven by theis inn hundreds of times and was very excited to stay. The day we arrived, the manager could not have been nicer. The building was beautiful at first glance. It was pointed out that it was the original wallpaper which I realized must be true because it was peelin goff in every direction. The pool area was FREEZING! and the "exercise room" was basically a couple of machines shoved in between the pool and the "sauna". The dinner service was very much like a Denny's or the likes, not what I would have expected for the prices you have to pay. As others have said, the rooms were beautiful but the bathrooms were outdated at best and in need of repair and upgrading. Again, not what you would expect from a high end hotel. The food was OK. Not great. All of this would have honestly been ok with me if the owners were nicer, more accomodating and acted like they cared at all if we were pleased with things. The absolute disregard for customer satisfaction is unforgivable in this business. I do want to point out the breakfast waiter and the day front desk person were topnotch . Welcoming, genuinely nice and eager to please. They should run the place

“Beautiful Romantic Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 February 2011

New York Times hailed White House Inn as "one of the ten most romantic places in the world.” They’re spot on. From our hosts Phil and Stacy, Zorro the dog to the romantically appointed rooms (ours had a 4 poster bed, working fireplace and Jacuzzi tub) plus the best dining in the area this was one of the best weekend getaways we’ve had in a long while.

Our friends and I have enjoyed many dinners in their beautifully appointed and staffed dining room but we will definitely be back to stay at the inn again. Have a relaxing massage at the Serenity spa upstairs at the inn. Laura does the best hot stone/ deep tissue massage. It’s rare to find such a fabulous massage therapist at a resort.

Situated 10 minutes from Mt Snow and near the Deerfield River there’s plenty to do in year round. After a day of skiing people were lined up on the big hill in front of the Inn to go tubing.

We had a great time. We'll be back next year.

“What a great Inn!!”

My wife & I met in Wilmington 36 years ago. Well, we took a trip down memory lane to revisit Wilmington and felt what better place to go than "The White House". We were not disappointed!

The owner greeted us and willingly showed us some options we had as far as room accommodations were concerned. We stuck with our original choice, a room with a king sized bed & wood-burning fireplace. Despite some fierce snow/ice storms before & during our arrival, the Inn was warm and welcoming. We had a very nice dinner at one of the 2-3 places open in Wilmington for 2 nights for dinner, then went back to the room, lit a wood fire in the fireplace and reminisced. We had dinner at The White House our final night & it was great!!

Because of the severe weather conditions that existed & were predicted to persist, we had the entire place practically to ourselves. Everything inside was immaculate & well appointed. For a few days at the Inn we enjoyed a wonderful country breakfast every morning [which is included with the price of the room]. There were wood-burning & pellet-burning stoves going all during the daylight & evening hours throughout the common areas. The atmosphere was very warm, cozy & comfortable. We played pool, swam in the indoor pool, & used the steam bath. Went "tubing' on the big hill there.

Loved our stay-we would willingly go back [you'll meet Zorro, no kidding]- T & K

“Beautiful Location”

Good food, friendly staff. Driveway and walk ways needed to be better plowed and sanded. Difficult driving.
