“Nice, but not sure if we would go back.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 July 2011

The Inn itself is very nice. The common rooms, bar, and dining rooms were well maintained. We had a room with a balcony. It was nice. Clean. But the balcony had chipped paint on the floor, and cobwebs, with bugs stuck in them, all over! I asked for a broom so I could sweep them off. The woman at the desk came up and swept it for us. Leaving a lot of webs and bugs behind. (I was wishing I could have done it myself)
The bathroom had no mirror over the sink. It was over the toilet! You had to straddle the toilet to use the mirror!! The lights were over the sink, so there was not much light on the left side of the mirror(over the toilet), and I kept banging my arm on the wall when I dryed my hair, when using the mirror. Very odd place to put the mirror!! Other than that, it was nice. The outdoor pool area needs some upkeep, it's starting to get taken over by weeds and bushes that need to be cut back.
A full breakfast was included, It was very hearty, and good. Although, I would have liked some fresh fruit on the menu.

“A Lovely B&B in Relaxing Wilmington”

We love this B&B and try to come every year. It's quiet, relaxing, picturesque. We've stayed in many rooms, but this time we stayed in Room 1. It was quiet despite being off of the main staircase. It had a lovely fireplace.

We had dinner in the bar - good food, super convenient! There's a nice restaurant option in the B&B as well that we have enjoyed on other occasions.

Breakfast is included and the blueberry pancakes are delicious!

There is a TV, computer, games, pool, and exercise area on the property. There is parking and if you get snowed in, they will help plow you out.

It's a lovely old estate, great for relaxing and/or romantic weekends away. It is located about at 15 minute drive to Mount Snow.

We have and will continue to recommend it to our friends.

“Best night sleep ever”

From the time I made the reservations until we checked out it was a positive experience.
When we arrived we were cheerfully greated by the staff, who made it a point to show us all of the wonderful amenitites that this beautiful early 1900's home had to offer. It was extremely clean, and the decor was true to the period of the home. When we were brought to our room 112, I was immediatly pleased with the size of the bed (king) the large jacuzzi tub and our own private entrance. Again the room was very much true to the decor of the rest of the home. We relaxed and enjoyed the indoor swimming pool and steam room, they also have a sauna. We went to our room relaxed until dinner which they start serving at 5:30. You have your choice between a casual tavern style dining and a fine dining experience. We chose the fine dining experience. The menu had so many wonderful options at reasonable prices. The dining staff was very friendly and efficient. Our dinner was amazing every course was timed just right and the food was delicious. We had a table near the fireplace and it just set the mood for a romantic dinner. On our way out we stopped for a drink at their well stocked bar. The woman who served us was very friendly and knew a great deal about the homes history. Ask to see the secret door leading to a hidden stair case you would never find it on your own. When we returned to our room we had a cozy fire and just enjoyed the atmosphere.
I had the best night sleep I have ever had while away. When we awoke we were just past the time for breakfast, but they made us feel like we had plenty of time. We got to meet their sweet little dog who was your best friend for a piece of bacon. On to the food,
blueberry pancakes a must, a bottomless cup of coffee, lean bacon and fresh juice.
When we checked out we were asked about our stay, in a truly caring way. They really made you feel like it was important that you enjoyed yourself. The big suprise was that
we were a few days short of the price reduction on the rooms for the next season and stacy the owner reduced the price without any fan fare, we didn't even know until we checked out. I would recommend this lovely Inn to anyone who really needs a getaway, or someone who is just passing through. We will definately be back to enjoy their full spa in a couple of months.

“never again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 March 2011

we were only there for the weekend, and we wont go again.
the amenities they list were tubing (sorry closed for the day due to private family party)
sauna, steamroom and pool (also inaccessible due to swarms of unsupervised children all over them for most of the day we were there) i have kids, so i usually dont mind, but this was out of control!
quiet and romantic (see above)
food was excellent. if you go to wilmington, maybe eat there, but dont stay.

“Very disappointing”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 March 2011

I have driven by theis inn hundreds of times and was very excited to stay. The day we arrived, the manager could not have been nicer. The building was beautiful at first glance. It was pointed out that it was the original wallpaper which I realized must be true because it was peelin goff in every direction. The pool area was FREEZING! and the "exercise room" was basically a couple of machines shoved in between the pool and the "sauna". The dinner service was very much like a Denny's or the likes, not what I would have expected for the prices you have to pay. As others have said, the rooms were beautiful but the bathrooms were outdated at best and in need of repair and upgrading. Again, not what you would expect from a high end hotel. The food was OK. Not great. All of this would have honestly been ok with me if the owners were nicer, more accomodating and acted like they cared at all if we were pleased with things. The absolute disregard for customer satisfaction is unforgivable in this business. I do want to point out the breakfast waiter and the day front desk person were topnotch . Welcoming, genuinely nice and eager to please. They should run the place
