“Not what I expected”

I have been a Marriott rewards member for years but had never stayed at a Town Place Suites. The walls were paper thin and the room had dirty footprints on the wall next to the bed. The bed was very comfortable though and the layout of the room with the small kitchen area was fine. The biggest disappointment was the laundry room. One washer and one dryer were out of order. After it was too late because I had already washed our clothes, I discovered the dryers were filthy. The lint traps had not been cleaned. They had grit and dirt in them as though someone had dried their dirty tennis shoes in them.
The positive to our stay was the manager apologized when we reported the issues and gave us extra rewards points. He was very apologetic and concerned. Doubt they can do anything about the noise from one room to the next but I believe the manager will address the cleanliness issues. I would only recommend this hotel if you want a kitchenette and can stand the noise. The staff was very friendly and polite.

“Nice place in a nice area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2011

Stayed two nights in a large studio using Marriott rewards points. Room was clean with a comfortable queen bed. There was a sofa bed, chair, and a 32” flat-screen TV that could be turned to watch either from the sofa or the bed. The sink area was not separated from the bathing area in the bathroom which I liked. The shower head and water pressure were great. Requested a higher floor during online reservation which was honored. The room was very quiet. Staff was helpful and quick with a smile.
The only thing I didn’t like was that the breakfast was small boxes of cold cereal, muffins, juice, fruit, coffee and milk. It would have been nice if they had a hot selection.
The area was safe and there were plenty of the usual franchise restaurants nearby.

Room Tip: Request a high floor as that keeps the noise level down.

“Low end Marriott brand still better than many hotels.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2011 via mobile

This is a basic utilitarian Marriott chain hotel. The extended stay design with kitchens and a sitting area is ok but I didn't use it in there nights. The building feels a lot like an apartment building. The exercise room was very small with just one or two machines. The comment about the cheap scratchy towels was right on. The bed and sheets were probably the best thing about the room. Mostly a solid, clean Marriott hotel. Good place to hang your hat.

“Isolated, quiet, but the rooms...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2011

The place is, overall quite. But make sure you requested a room not inhabited by pets. It is pet friendly place. If you have allergy, you may want to bring your medication. It is a good stopping point if you intend to go to Quebec, Canada, which we did. The staff are not familiar with what is available in the area. We were looking for the ferry going to New York and no one in the staff seems to know where to take it. Use your GPS when looking for this place. Overall, a fair place to stay.
