“Comfort with Love”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2011

What are lovely people who run this hotel! From the first step into the place we got surrounded by love and immediately felt ourselves at home. The rooms are all different (at least those we've seen), but are very comfortable. We had bathroom outside of the room (in fact two of them on the 2nd floor), but they were clean and, again, comfortable to use. The dinner and breakfast are real treats! We stayed only for one night, but got to know our neighbors during lovely conversations at dinner and breakfast. And the talks flow seamlessly in this place! Most people, who stayed there for the time around New Year come back there regularly, which says something about the place by itself.

Perhaps, the only reason for not to choose the hotel could be if you don't want to see other people. Even though I bet it's possible there.

“We look forward to staying at this B&B again!”

This is an inexpensive B&B for the area. The staff was friendly, our motel room was very clean and had cross ventilation and a fan was provided, which we did not use. We were very comfortable, loved the homey atmosphere of the living and dining rooms, and enjoyed the company of other guests. The breakfast was lovely, we shared tables with other guests and were waited on. Our breakfast choices were cooked to order and the morning we were there we enjoyed fresh fruit, delicious homemade bread, lumberman mush samplers, wonderful pancakes and of course the coffee was Green Mountain coffee.

The Inn/Motel is advertised as pet friendly and the "house pets" were friendly to the guests.

We loved our stay at this Inn and look forward to returning and having a weekend dinner if there are at least 10 people signing up for it.

“Good value, Great Breakfasts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2010

I went with my buddy to ski Okemo & Stratton and The Colonial House was well situated for both. The innkeeper and staff were friendly and genuine. The property is divided into two main sections, the motel units and the rooms in the main house. The motel units offer more privacy and seclusion while the rooms in the house have more of a B&B feel. Overall, a diverse, unique property that I would recommend across the board to all types of travelers except for those that are used to white glove service as there is nothing fancy about the place - It's a more of a subtle, genuine down home charmer. The inclusion of the country breakfast makes this a good value.

We arrived without bookings and were made very welcome by the Family Owners.
The Colonial House is a mixture between a traditional New England Inn and Motel

“A gem in Vermont”

My husband and I found this place through the Okemo Ski Resort website. It's a great place to ski and stay. It's family owned and Jeff and Kim are very nice. We stayed in the motel part and it was very comfortable. The only thing I didn't like is no bath tub (just shower). But they have a nice cozy communal living room with coffee, tea and hot chocolate whenever you want and they leave out homemade cookies every day. They also provide a communal fridge and microwave. There is a full breakfast every morning with homemade warm cereal and breads. I had pancakes with real warm maple syrup (delish) and my husband had an omelette. They have you sit at a big table with other guests from the Inn and we had two mornings of interesting conversation with people from different parts of the country. I really enjoyed it and will definitely stay again.
