4 of us went up for a Murder Mystery Weekend and had a blast. All around - it was a great weekend getaway.
Positive:
The rooms we saw (including ours) had their own fireplace for a delightful (warm) country stay.
The meals were delicious, and more than adequately accompanied with wine.
The inn keeper & wife really made the murder mystery event a super fun experience, and I can't wait to go back to try out other themes for the murder mysteries.
For this weekend - the inn keeper really went out of his way on several occasions to make the experience as good as possible (e.g., made last-minute vegetarian options, stayed upbeat and "in the theme" throughout the murder mystery even with a headcold, found power converters for a laptop, etc.). We felt like special guests.
The Living Social partnership makes the value even better.
Negative:
The walls are thin, as you'd expect in an old inn like this one, so if you're a party-pooper expect to be kept up by the fun-loving guests having a rowdy time downstairs.
The food was delicious, but there could have been more of it, as it always ran out.
Be sure to bring your own shampoo, soap, etc.
Last Word:
I'd like to reiterate how accommodating John the inn-keeper was. He responded quickly and courteously to any request, and was so clearly motivated to make sure every guest had a great time.
