My boyfriend and I stayed just one night, choosing the Gray Ghost (named for a fishing lure) because of its proximity to Mount Snow (just a mile up the road). The Inn is located right on the access road, conveniently close to many restaurants and bars. A flock of chickens greeted us as we pulled into the parking lot of the large, gray building with a wide and welcoming front porch. Our check in was efficient and friendly--owners Carina and Magnus were both welcoming and informative, and made us feel very much at home.
We were shown up to our small but cozy room. Because it was midweek, we pretty much had the place to ourselves, so it was very quiet (a definite plus, given that I'm a light sleeper!). After a day of awesome skiing at Mount Snow, we came back to the Inn and hung out in the comfortable downstair lounge, sitting in front of the fireplace and drinking some wine. There were a variety of games and cards available, as well as a piano, DVD player, movies, and a game room that is probably very popular with families. There's also a hot tub (which we didn't use).
The next morning, Magnus cooked us a terrific breakfast of fresh eggs, local bacon and toast, and we were on our way. We had a really nice stay at this warm and friendly inn and look forward to returning there again!
