“Warm and welcoming”

My boyfriend and I stayed just one night, choosing the Gray Ghost (named for a fishing lure) because of its proximity to Mount Snow (just a mile up the road). The Inn is located right on the access road, conveniently close to many restaurants and bars. A flock of chickens greeted us as we pulled into the parking lot of the large, gray building with a wide and welcoming front porch. Our check in was efficient and friendly--owners Carina and Magnus were both welcoming and informative, and made us feel very much at home.

We were shown up to our small but cozy room. Because it was midweek, we pretty much had the place to ourselves, so it was very quiet (a definite plus, given that I'm a light sleeper!). After a day of awesome skiing at Mount Snow, we came back to the Inn and hung out in the comfortable downstair lounge, sitting in front of the fireplace and drinking some wine. There were a variety of games and cards available, as well as a piano, DVD player, movies, and a game room that is probably very popular with families. There's also a hot tub (which we didn't use).

The next morning, Magnus cooked us a terrific breakfast of fresh eggs, local bacon and toast, and we were on our way. We had a really nice stay at this warm and friendly inn and look forward to returning there again!

Room Tip: Upper floor, away from access road, is probably quietest.

“Home away from home”

My family and I, 27 in all, just spent another wonderful holiday at the Gray Ghost Inn. This was our seventh year in a row. We would like to thank Carina & Magnus for their warm & friendly hospitality and for always making us feel at home. Every morning we were served a delicious breakfast, best blueberry pancakes, and always had wood burning in the fireplace. At night the kids enjoyed the hot tub and game room while we played music, enjoyed a few cocktails and played card games. It was great. We will be staying at the Gray Ghost throughout the winter season using our season ski passes. Mount Snow is a two minute ride from the Inn. Very convenient.

Room Tip: Third floor rooms are quieter.

“Enjoyable summer stay”

Road up on our bike from NJ. Magnus and Carina were wonderful, we loved the dogs too! Any of the poor reviews on this place are nonsense. Hope to see you during ski season and again next summer. The riding in the area is great both on a snowboard and a bike

“USA Ryder Cup success at the Gray Ghost”

Recently we stayed at the Gray Ghost Inn as part of our annual golf trip. Consisting of 24 guys away from their wives and kids for 4 nights, needless to say we can be a boisterous group. Carina, Magnus, and their family were extremely easy to deal with and very accomodating to our trip. We had both breakfast and dinner at the Inn and the food was excellent. Between the outside deck, yard, fire pit, pool, hut tub and game room there was everything we needed to make this trip a success. The rooms were kept daily and very clean. Carina coordinated everything with Mt Snow Golf Course as well and that went off very smoothly. Gray Ghost Inn is definitely a great destination for a group looking to have a good time. Perhaps the highlight of the trip was the overwhelming win by Team USA. It was definitely nice not to have to hear OLE on Saturday night!!!

Room Tip: Rooms were clean and kept daily. There is no tv or phone in the rooms but was perfect in pushing a...
