My fiance and I booked a ski trip to Mt Snow to celebrate his birthday. The website described the inn as "luxurious" and the descriptions sounded perfect for our stay. Upon arrival, the innkeeper was very unwelcoming. Although not rude, she certainly didn't have the outgoing, warm personality you expect from people in the hospitality industry. It seemed the guests were more of an imposition than an enjoyment.
Our room was quaint, but very small and run down. The tan carpet was very dirty, the curtains tattered, the sink was cracked. The towels and sheets were very low quality--think Econolodge. There was a polyester comforter on the bed. But most disappointing was the lack of housekeeping. Our bed was never made (we stayed 3 nights) and the room never tidied. The first day we thought maybe it was an oversight and decided not to mention it. The second day our trash was emptied and a bathmat left for us (one had not been provided ealier) so someone was in the room, but nothing else was done?! I would expect better service from a basic roadside motel!
The breakfast was very basic, although tasty. All 3 mornings the menu was the same--pancakes or eggs with side dishes of breakfast meat/fruit, bagels, etc...Knowing that the inn keepers were chefs, I thought they could have put a little more creativity into the morning menu! The innkeeper served as waitress and again showed no personal interest in her guests which was very different from previous experiences in B&B's.
We had intended to have a dinner there as the reviews for the food had been so good, however with such a poor overall impression of the place, we elected to enjoy some of the other excellent restaurants in the area.
On a positive note, the inn is very convenient to the mountain. There was always a roaring fire in the living room and crackers/cheese were provided as an afternoon snack. It was a little strange to still see Christmas stockings and other decorations around at the end of February. My impression is that the restaurant is the main focus here and the inn is a way to support it. Maybe I'm wrong....
There are many better B&B's in the area so I would recommend spending your money elsewhere. Maybe if the inn hadn't touted itself as a "luxury" establishment our expectations would have been lower, but I think we would have been disappointed regardless. We will not be back.

I am very sorry that you did not have a good experience. Let me start by explaining a few things. It is very difficult to make sure a guest chooses the correct room for their expectations when we don't speak to the guest directly. In this age of computers, many people book online. There are a few rooms that were slated to be completely renovated this summer. They are being worked on and I fear that one of those rooms is where you chose.I would have recommended one of our upgrade rooms that are much newer and sounds like what you were looking for.
As far as the housekeeping not replenishing etc., if towels are hung up anywhere in the room, they are not changed as this is stated in the rooms, for environmental reasons. If there are any items left on the beds, we do not remake the beds, because in the past we had instances that guests did not like housekeeping moving their belongings. If there were any items on the bed, that is why it was not made. The towels, I have addressed this in another review. Unfortunately there is now only 1 linen company to choose from up here. We do not have the facility to keep up with the laundry on our own, therefore we rent them. Those are the best they have, we are limited there.
We try very hard to make sure all our guests feel at home. I would love to have you try us again, and call and speak to us before booking. This way we can make sure you have the correct accommodations for your expectations.
