“A Little Tired”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 May 2010

The property is tucked away up a hill and looks a little uninviting from the outside, inside the property is clearly lacking attention in some areas. The rooms are functional, However the bathroom appeared old and tired, the Chris Suite has a skylight which for some reason is boarded up.

There is a certain rustic charm, but a lot of work needs doing to the property which clearly hasn't been done lately. When you have a shower if anyone else flushes a toilet in the property, the water stops flowing. There is next to no sound proofing, so you can hear every word from other rooms when you are trying to sleep. Whilst you should be able to trust in your fellow man, having no locks on the bedroom doors when you go out for the day is a big concern, especially if you leave anything of value in your room.

The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful with lots of advice about the area, it was a pleasure to chat with them.

Would we recommend anyone to stay here, unfortunately not, as friendly and helpful as the hosts were and irrespective of general prices in the area this property doesn't warrant the price of $125 a night. We have stayed in loads of budget Mom and Pop motels that are in better condition than this.

“If roustic is what you're looking for....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2009

If roustic is what you're looking for, this is the place to be. First, lets get rid of the simple things...NO- TV, RADIO, ALARM CLOCKS, CELL SIGNAL. Remember I said 'Roustic'. However, they do have free WiFi. Second, food is AWESOME (applesauce pancakes were my favorite). Great scenery... the owners were great and very knowledgable about the area. This B&B is located about ten minutes from BEN & JERRYS factory. Last be most importantly not least... GPS is very very helpful. Got us within 100 feet (use the coordinates not the street address). We do plan to go back.

“Rustic charm with thoughtful hosts”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2009

We enjoyed our stay at the haus. The beds were pretty comfortable and the breakfast was tasty albeit clearly "budget" food (pancakes with fresh berries and Folgers-type coffee). Rooms were clean, service was friendly and there were many places where it was obvious that the hosts thought carefully about their guests. Floors were creaky which added to the charm, but could be annoying for a light sleeper. The hosts were friendly, but not long on conversation- which could be good or bad depending on your personality. The price was right and I felt we were treated better than I expected. I would stay again, especially over some sterile hotel for 40% more cost.

“Wished I could have stayed longer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2009

My Children and I ( ages 20 to 27 ) stayed at this bed and breakfast. We had never stayed in one before. It was so much nicer than a hotel chain. It was nice to have a home made breakfast ( that was great by the way ) instead of a bagel or donut like you usally get at the hotels.
The owners were so nice and helped you with tour information and directions. If you miss this while in VT. You will be sorry. I wish I could have stayed longer than 1 night.
Thanks for the wonderful time and memories.

“Great Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2008

They accept pets in the cabins (not in the lodge), which are a bit of a hike up the trail. The cabin was nice and we especially enjoyed the wood stove. It was so peaceful because we were back in the woods, too cool to sit on the porch but took a nice hike on the property - absolutely beautiful with all the fall colors . The breakfast was delicious and the inn keepers were wonderful. I would recommend it.
