Nicely decorated, homey country inn. Note that it's called an "Inn", not a bed and breakfast, so those who complained about not getting a hot breakfast are a little out of bounds. The breakfast was a cold continental breakfast, and for that quite good. We'd stay here again.

My stay was comfortable and pleasant in every way imaginable. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. Most of my interactions were with Kate, who is terrific, but everyone there was friendly, professional, and truly attentive to guest needs. I look forward to returning.

I was trying to be close to Stowe, - a mid-way point for a friend and I to visit. However, it was a very busy weekend because of an antique car show and had difficulty finding a room for one of my 2 nights there. I recalled having stayed at the Thatcher Brook Inn many years ago, but nothing special about the experience. I decided Waterbury would be close enough, and would return to the Thatcher Brook Inn.

My accommodations and the inn as a whole were very clean and comfortable. It met my needs perfectly, and exceeded my expectations. I was by myself with no children and can only speak to that experience. As a large old Victorian style structure, it has been modernized while still maintaining the original design and feeling throughout. I enjoyed sitting on the wrap around porch in the a.m. It is close to the road, but with a room in the back, heard no noise whatsoever at night.

My wife & I made a reservation expecting a full hot breakfast in the morning, just what we needed for a full day on the road. What we got was a cold breakfast, no better than we got the previous morning at a Holiday Inn. The room was pleasant enough, but not what we expected from a quality B&B.

This very pretty inn is a short distance from downtown Waterbury and has plenty of parking. If you are willing to forego a TV, the price is excellent--$99 for an attractive double room with bath and a very generous continental breakfast. (There are all kinds of rooms and some have TVs. Prices obviously vary.) We were pleasantly surprised by the breakfast: fresh fruit salad, 3 kinds of fresh muffins, blueberry coffeecake, English muffins, cereal, yogurt, cereal, and all the beverages you would expect. I think we'll return in the fall!
