Everything about this place impressed me--I miss it already!
The beds had big fluffy comforters, thick pillows and clean white sheets. There were tons of towels in cute little baskets. We got the cheapest room, which was pretty small, but again--clean. We had to share a bathroom with the room next door to us, but it was fine. There was basically one bathroom for every 2 rooms. The bathroom was directly across the hall, and it's the kind of place you can walk around barefoot--hardwood floors, everything is as clean as your mom's house, etc. The had a hair dryer, soap and body gel.
Right outside my room was a common area. It had really big leather sofas and chairs and a huge TV. My friends and I would lounge around after skiing. Since the place isn't that big, the two large common areas are enough to keep everyone happy. The room upstairs could easily seat 12 people, maybe more. And it was really cozy--it's pretty
small so you see the same faces and everyone is really pleasant and friendly.
The decor was absolutely perfect. I didn't really have high expectations (bc the prices were so low) so I was especially impressed
by the whole building. Nice sofas, nice walls, nice art, etc. It was the quintessential ski lodge!!
There's also this great little bar downstairs. We first saw it during the day when it was empty, so we didn't think much of it and went out in town instead. We came home and the place was packed (35 ppl tops--it's small). There was a GREAT band playing and the whole atmosphere was just incredible all around.
Transportation--A shuttle picked us up at the end of the driveway each
morning and took us to and from the mountain. There wasn't any public transportation at night, so we had to call a cab. It was a little bit of a hike (10 min), and we had to call in advance, so just be advised.
But it wasn't expensive, so not that big of a deal. We hung around the
downstairs bar the other nights.
And of course, the reason we went in the first place--the skiing was awesome too! It snowed 2 out of the 3 days but it wasn't too cold either.
I just want to end by saying that this was a really amazing and memorable experience for me and a big part of it had to do with Slide Brook. This is the first time I've bothered to write a review, but this place more than deserves it. I can't wait to go back there!
