“i love the garrison motor lodge!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 May 2009

I have had a really great time every time at the Garrison Motor Lodge. It may be because i have a special room that i get into every time but it is the most relaxed motel i have ever been in. We can hang out until the break of dawn and it doesn't cause a ruccuss to everyone, the water tastes great, tucker the dog is a great hostess along with the owners daughter who enjoys checking people in and helping you with whatever you may need! The beds are very comfortable, and it is nice to see that there are more than just a couple beds in the rooms there are so many! The tv's may be small but who needs big tvs when you have the great light of a light bulb and some cards to keep you entertained? After a long day at the mountain its a nice place to come back to with the christmas lights up *year round may i add, it gives a great effect*. There are tennis courts in the front for when you stay during the summer to get some nice exercise! A small river is close by that you can sit in and cool off if you dont feel like swimming in the pool that day, which is always at a perfect temperature! Basically, i love this place and will continue going here until my hairs turn grey. Thank you staff and members at the Garrison Motor Lodge for making the past two-three years a pleasure.

“stay away”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2009

We arrived at the Garrison two days before New Years. The place was kinda out of date and a condo with four bedrooms consists of two rooms with bunk beds downstairs. We were there to ski so it didn't matter if the place was a little outdated. Within the first few hours of being there the faucet broke and the curtains fell down, again no big deal. Then we went to bed. I awoke at two am to lots of squeaking and scampering. I had heard the squeaking before but assumed it was just the floor above us. WRONG! There were dozens of mice in the drop ceiling over our heads. All night they ran around and made noise and we obviously couldn't sleep. In the morning I even found mouse droppings in the empty bunk bed above me. The owner wasn't surprised at all but at least he helped us find another condo to stay in.

“Never Again!!!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2009

Problem after problem! Beds were horrible, place was extremely dated, TV was a 19" which switched on and off, and heat broke for a full day. Now that the heat is fixed (due to an oil leak!) and our 'condo' (I use this word LOOSELY) now reeks of burnt oil. The owner handed us a fan and said 'open the door folks'. [--]?!? Also we stayed here for 6 longs days, sleeping on a 'taco-like' mattress, and the room wasn't serviced once. We had to get our own towels, bring out our garbage, and sweep the pounds of rock salt off our green living room carpet while having to shovel the stairs ourselves from the snow (which might I add is beautiful!!).

Now for one good thing: This place is CHEAP!!! It was just my boyfriend and I that stayed here and we got a package for very cheap that included accomodations here at the Garrison. Maybe when we were 18 this place would have been fine to basically sleep and party. We do not have children but if we did, this would NOT be the place either. This is for young partiers who don't care about having a decent place to come back to after a long day of riding.

Finally one more good thing: Tucker the house dog is awesome! He is friendly and so cute. Every morning he waited for us outside our door and we would let him in to hang out. Too bad we will never see him again cause we will NOT be returning! :)

“Nothing special, but not bad.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2008

Although I think this property is mostly condos, they offer some motel rooms as well. Its a bit outdated and had a strange set-up and very small rooms, but overall it was a decent place for a night's stay. The room was clean and had a mini-fridge and microwave. No complaints, and the price was definitely better than most of what you can find in the area. The 'front desk' was accommodating to a very late arrival time.

“Would not stay here again”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 April 2005

Out of date, needs much sprucing up. We had 2 adults in a room that could accomodate up to 8 people. I don't see how 8 adults could have fit in there, especially with one tiny washroom with a toilet that did not flush properly and a shower that had no light fixture in it. As well the kitchen supplies were limited - there was no kettle!! Dishwasher was in poor shape. The only thing good about this place was the fact that the accomodation was cheap, and included the ski and stay package.
