“January 2012 ski holiday”

Our stay at Weathertop Mountain Inn was simply wonderful. My wife, two grown children and myself were received with courtesy and warmth upon arrival by Mike and Lisa (the managers/owners). Fortunately, the snow arrived in the area at the same time we did, as this was planned as a ski holiday. The facility's location, about half a mile from German Flats Road (the access road to Mts. Ellen & Lincoln), allowed for a relaxed morning of a wholesome breakfast at the Inn, followed by virtually no travel time to the ski lifts.
The absence of T.V.'s in the rooms was a welcome change as problems always seem to arise from noisy T.V.'s late at night in adjoining rooms when you're trying to sleep. However, two fully equipped T.V.s/entertainment centers are provided - one in the common room; the other in the rec room in the spacious loft. Both areas are very clean, comfortable, and equipped with fire places, along with a wide selection of books to be found in the loft.
The in-house dinner menu is sufficiently varied and selections prepared so well that, I personally would have been content to eat in most of the time. But the facility's relatively central locale tends to draw one's sense of dining adventure to any of several wonderfully varied bills of fare in the area. Great coffee and an extensive selection of wines is available almost any time in-house upon request. Mike is something of a wine connoisseur and turned both my wife and I onto some very nice wines.
Other amenities include jacouzi, two-person sauna, wi-fi access, and pool table.
We found Weathertop Mountain Inn to be clean, laid back and nicely located for the area's amenities - a great value and experience that we shall make every effort to repeat.
Paul LaCroix.

Thanks for the great feedback Paul. We are delighted to hear that your family enjoyed the visit. Wine talk is something that Mike never tires of....Lisa is just happy to be a beneficiary of his expertise! Best of luck with your archaeology endeavors.

The place is warm and coz with very good breakfast and dinner and wide choice of wines with an interesting hosts Mike and Liza. We enjoyed our stay in a romantic atmosphere and a hot tub in a cold and wintery day. loved it.

“Great Inn, Great Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2011

The Weathertop Mountain Inn was very easy to find after a rather long, late night drive. It was conveniently located for my husband's telemark weekend and for my travels around Vermont. We stayed in the Robert Frost room, which was spacious, clean and charming. I can't think of any amenity that wasn't provided! The innkeepers are a pleasant, friendly couple who are devoted to their inn and who clearly care about their guests. The breakfasts are made to order with fresh, local ingredients whenever possible. It is a pet friendly inn, and in addition to their cats, there was a visiting dog, which added to a home-away-from-home atmosphere. Our one regret is that we weren't able to have dinner at the inn because we have no doubt that it would have been delicious.

“KUDOS”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

We have stayed at many nice hotels, motels, inns and condos, but this week we experienced probably the nicest B&B Inn ever. That is the Weathertop Mountain Inn in Waitsfield, VT. The inn is absolutely beautiful and charming. The rooms are spacious and the beds are extremely comfortable. And Lisa and Mike are the most charming hostess and host that you can find. We extend our kudos to the Inn and it's owners, Lisa and MIke.

“Terrific experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2011

This is my first Trip Advisor review, and I am motivated to write because this is such a fantastic little inn. My wife, daughter, and I stayed there during the summer season. Mike and Lisa, the owners, made us feel very welcome and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. The Inn is located in the Mad River Valley, a beautiful location right in the center of Vermont with lots of country activities nearby. The Inn itself is modern and comfortable, with landscaped grounds, welcoming common areas, an attic game room complete with pool table, and an awesome hot tub. The guest rooms are cozy and very clean, with modern amenities. Every morning, Mike and Lisa served us a hearty breakfast, cooked to order, with two friendly cats keeping us company. We got plenty of information to help plan the daily activities -- on their advice, we visited the town farmer's market and took an exhilarating day hike to the top of nearby Mt. Abraham. Mike and Lisa also offer guests the option of having a gourmet dinner cooked just for them, with a surprisingly broad and interesting menu. We arranged to have dinner there one night, and it was so delicious! We even got a fun wine tutorial from Mike, who is quite a connoisseur. In fact, the hosts are really nice people in general, very friendly and easy to talk to. I could go on, but suffice it to say that this is a great place to stay for a few days in lovely Vermont, no matter what the season. (I will point out that while the owners are family friendly, the Weathertop Inn is best enjoyed by adults and older kids who can appreciate a more pastoral setting.) Go! Relax! Enjoy the hospitality!
