Needed a room from Tuesday to Friday at the tail end of foliage season. Luckilly after we decided our original reserved accomodations weren't going to be suitable we were able to stay here instead at the Golden Lion Riverside Inn.
Michael and Melinda could have not been nicer or more willing to do anything in their power to make our visit enjoyable.
Our room was reasonably priced which was important since it was for three nights at my own expense.
Delicious breakfasts were included in the price. This added greatly to the value.
Not luxurious rooms but showers were hot and the bed was comfortable.
We would stay here again if we needed to be budget conscious.

I selected the Golden Lion Riverside Inn because it was one of the few options available during of the the weekends of school vacation. This is a no-frills motel. The rates are reasonable but you get what you pay for. The rooms are small and clean, though they have a lingering musty smell. The bed (a double bed in room 1) was neither comfortable nor uncomfortable. The location of my room was unfortunate as everybody walked past on the front walkway on the way to breakfast. The walls are thin. I had the joy of experiencing nonstop overnight coughing of my neighbor in the next room. This motel is a reasonable option as long as you understand that the accomodations are very basic.

This was the perfect budget choice for skiing at Sugarbush. The rooms are a little dated but spacious, warm and very clean. The breakfasts are excellent and the owners are very friendly. We would definitely consider coming back here.

Returned to the Golden Lion for the first time in a couple of years and had another nice stay. It's nice to see the work the owners have done and it has a fresh new look with new paint and signs. Good, hearty breakfasts before we hit the slopes and the folks who run the place were always helpful and knowledgeable about the area.

We had a great ski trip to Sugarbush and Mad River Glen. The people and atmosphere of the Mad River Valley cannot be beat. I only wish I could make it up more often!
