“"Not bad if you like sleeping in a sauna."”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

The pros: very clean, tv worked, the location is great.
The cons: The room thermostat did not work. I left a note at the front desk. Never got a response. We had 3 windows open 4 out of 5 nights. (We quickly realized why there was a fan in the room). Our sleep suffered every night. We were tired after a hike so went to the room for a nap...haha. They were working on the room next door; drilling, hammering, etc. IThe parking lot was plowed but there was no dirt or salt to help with the icy conditions. (Interestingly enough, we ate breakfast at another inn and noticed how much care they took to maintain the parking lot). The continental breakfast consisted of bulk bought danish, stale bagels, bread, english muffins, cereal, and batter and a waffle maker to make your own Belgian waffles. We ate here once and paid for breakfast at other locations the rest of the week. My husband and I both know why this was the only place around with rooms available. Live and learn.

Room Tip: The "carriage room" is just the adjoining, run-down motel.

“Bad Experience”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

We thought that we were escaping the city for peaceful experience in Stowe, Vermont. Instead, our room had some issues. Constantly running toilet (no it wasn't a designated waterfall effect); thermostat did not work, and had to open windows to cool the 80 degree room down.; the two heaters made a loud buzzing sound every time the heat turned on. I complained twice with no response to the issues. The front desk obviously received this complaint before as he knew exactly what I was talking about. It was an awful experience. Worst part - we prepaid for the room for five nights with no cancellations, therefore we could not leave or threaten to leave. Another complaint is that they did not plow the parking lot, and it was a sheet of ice to walk to breakfast. We didn't spend much time in the room, but it had a 1990s 16 inch TV for those who care. My recommendation is to not stay here until they fix the heating system.

Positives: Great location in town with restaurants within walking distance. Good breakfast of eggs and waffles every day;

Room Tip: Don't stay in the motel like rooms in the back of the property.

“Nice 3 star option in town”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2011

The perk of this place is the location: you can walk to town, restaurants, gas station, stores, and to the lovely walk by the river and waterfalls. The property main building is sweet and the breakfast room has nice views and a variety of food options. The rooms are separated from the main building, and although clean and sufficient, they lack character and felt a little musty. But perfectly good for relaxing in the evenings. I do suggest that the hotel provides a hairdryer in the rooms, that is my only complaint. The staff by the way, were all sweet. I would recommend.

“Great Weekend Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

The Stowe Inn is in a very convenient location in town - walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. We stayed in the main part of the inn. We had a very large suite on the second floor. Everything was very clean & comfortable. We ate in the restaurant on site and had a very enjoyable meal. We found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful! We had a great experience overall! Would definately visit again!

“Dog friendly, very comfortable Hotel in Stowe, Vermont”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

The Stowe Inn is in the heart of town, and the very comfortable room in the annex allowed us to have a great night with Molly, the golden retriever. The beds were comfortable, our room had a couch and coffee table as well as a TV. The bathroom was a little outdated, but the place was very clean. We ate dinner there and it was great. A continental breakfast was also included. I would recommend highly for those traveling with a pet.
