“Great Respite from the Big City”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 March 2011

I find Auberge de Stowe to be a wonderful respite from the rush, the materialism and the isolation of NYC. The Auberge is a great homey place to detach oneself from the stress of work and commuting. Shawn and Chantal are quite "genuine"-- a young, vibrant, energetic couple who are good and old-fashioned in every postive sense of the word, I really enjoy staying there.

“Great, affordable place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2011

Our family of four (two adults, one ten year old, one fourteen year old) just came back from a lovely stay at the Auberge de Stowe. The owners of the Inn are some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet. It feels just like staying with family. They are also very helpful with tips for getting around town and information about restaurants and stores.

Breakfasts were delicious (Chantal is a great cook). Our room was comfortable and big enough for the four of us with ski gear. I would suggest to bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper as the floors above squeak when someone walks across upstairs.

If you're looking for a fancy, luxurious bed and breakfast, this isn't the place for you, but if you're happy with a comfortable, clean, relaxed atmosphere with great value, the Auberge de Stowe is a great place to stay. The next time we're in Stowe, we'll definitely stay here again.

“Perfect Vermont Writer's Hideaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2010

I'm a professional writer and I often travel to the Auberge for a week at a time with my laptop and research materials for a session of complete Green Mountain deprivation. The hospitality from innkeepers Shawn and Chantal is first rate. They take you in as part of their family while you're there - or they leave you alone to do you own thing - whatever your preference. The coffee is excellent, hot, and flows all day - just like the intelligent discourse that centers in the bright, comfortable dining room. The rooms have free wi-fi and good air conditioning in the hot summer nights. And the metal roof allows the simple please of listening to the rhythm of the rain as you drift to sleep. Shawn is also an accomplished writer and teacher. He's always game for a lively, witty conversation on the issues of the day - and you don't need to twist his arm for him to disappear into the family quarters and reemerge with two glasses and a bottle of good whiskey tucked under his arm. What else can I say? The Auberge receives my highest recommendation. If you prefer the chain hotels and high-priced B&B's, the Auberge is not your speed. But if you like to find those hidden travel gems you only learn about by word of mouth, the Auberge should be your next stay while in the town of Stowe.

“Super nice place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2010

I've stayed at the Auberge for years. It's where I head in the summer and it always feels like home. This inexpensive vacation adds days to my stay. The place is unassuming and the Kerivan's couldn't be nicer. Days are quiet and nights might find us talking over wine. I just love the low key atmosphere and homey feel.

“Great hosts, nice location, near some great places”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2010

Our host were very nice and friendly. They have a nice relaxing hot tub on the deck and a cozy common room. The rooms were comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast was good but a bit continental. All in all we had a great stay.
