“Great five days skiing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We had a great stay at Timberholm Inn, we were set up for the day with a great breakfast and then when we came back in the afternoon we always had cookies or cake waiting for us. After a cookie and coffee it was into the hot tub to relax and then after dinner we relaxed in front of the log fire with a book. It was just what the doctor ordered. We felt so relaxed after our five days. Tom was a great host and nothing was aproblem for him.

“Feel like home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We really enjoyed our one night stay and certainly plan for a longer period to experiment the various seasons. Tom, the Innkeeper was most welcoming, made us feel home right fro the get go and showed us our beautiful and very convenient room/suite with two separate rooms and a large living area. Beds we so comfortable (better that at home and slpt like babies.

While absolutely charming with a large common room on the first floor with a big fireplace and several reading areas and also where a very tasting and generous breakfast is served, one needs to realize that this is build like a real cottage where walls are not totally sound proof. However, my read are that guests are now the noisy type so it was not a real issue for us. Everybody went to bed exhausted after a long day enjoying many of the of the most beautiful outdoors activities, good restaurants and beautiful boutiques in Stowe. The Timberholm is very well located, yet on a very quite site street from Mountain road. If you are looking for a 5 stars, stuffed and fancy hotel with all amenities, that's not the place. But if you are looking for a comfy place, great people and great breakfast in an enchanted environment, hats the place to go include

Thanks Rene...very good description of the Timberholm Inn. In some ways it is old cottage like, and I'm glad you could appreciate the rustic and comfortable atmosphere. Hope you come back down from Montreal and stay with us again. If you liked the winter season, you will love it here in the summer!

“My fiance fell in love!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

My fiance and I took a week off in early-mid January and I decided to stay at this place because of the great reviews as well as how quaint it looked as a country home. We only stayed for 2 nights but would've stayed longer if they weren't fully booked for that weekend. In short, we absolutely loved Timberholm inn. Tom was very helpful and inviting, helped us make reservations for dinner. And BOY, are his breakfasts AMAZING! You must stay at least one night for the breakfast of your life, and you know he makes it out of love, because you can't just get a baked apple stuffed with nuts and cinnamon, chocolate zucchini bread, spinach cheese quiche (I can go on and on) at any old place, and we were full till dinner. The inn was clean, warm and inviting. Tom even prepared the fire logs and my fiance did not hesitate to light it. We got the spruce room, and yes, it was small, but it was clean, cozy, warm, just enough for us (but for future, we would book a bigger room because it was very hard to maneuver with ski bags and equipment in the room). The inn is close to all amenities, but tucked far enough from the traffic. I don't know what else to say, except you have to give this place a try, and I would definitely stay again!

Room Tip: Be aware of the size room you are booking - they are clear on their website, and their "tiny&qu...

“Lovely little cosy place after a day on the slopes!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

We decided to stay here after reading reviews on trip advisor. It met all expectations, the breakfast was indeed enough to keep you going until tea time, we didn't quite make the most of breakfast as we're used to a small bowl of cereal but it was nice to have some traditional Vermont style breakfast!

The cookies in the afternoon were amazing! I am only sorry we didn't arrive early enough to enjoy them on the Friday too.

The room was comfortable and clean and the service was great. Tom & Susan were very friendly and helpful.

It was a little pricey compared to what we are used to but it is probably the most reasonably priced in the area looking at other places to stay. We would definitely go back there.

“Best Breakfast in Town!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

What a relaxing, warm and cozy place to stay, great hospitality, warmth and food (including warm cookies in the afternoon). And breakfast who needed to eat lunch? We stayed here in late December 2011. There are two fireplaces to read by or watch a movie, which we did both and thoroughly enjoyed. Best review question, would you return, answer is yes!
