“Cute, home-like stay for its price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011

I was here for the nite with a friend and some family for my cousins wedding. I chose Season's Pass Inn because it was the cheapest I could find. At first I was a little creeped out, the woman at the desk had my keys all ready for me and when I got there and didn't even ask who I was, but later I realized it is a small place and she knew we were coming to check in. The rooms were decent, older looking but a bed is a bed and a shower is a shower. I've seen much worse. It's not some ritzy hotel, it's a quaint motel. The owners were very nice and friendly, they talked with us at breakfast, which was provided, with home made breads. My only complaint was that the pool and hot tub were being renovated and we could not use them. I would definately stay here again the next time I go to Vermont.

“Great location and value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2011

It's not luxurious, but for the price it's great. The location is perfect - on the main street through Stowe, just south of the center of town. The rooms are basic, the beds are hard, the stairs are steep, but I paid under $100 per night in Stowe at the height of the fall foliage season. At that price, I'm not going to complain that it isn't The Four Seasons. At that price, I'm going to be thankful it's not a cardboard box on the highway!

It was far from a cardboard box on the side of the highway. It was perfectly fine. Nice, even. Safe, clean, comfortable - comfortable enough that we spent a rainy afternoon in the room playing cards. The refrigerator was cold, the microwave worked, they even had a decent cable TV selection.

They have a free breakfast with delicious blueberry bread, Green Mountain coffee, doughnuts, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, orange juice, all kinds of carbohydrates, which you eat at a table while classical music plays softly in the background. At breakfast, the husband owner talks and talks about everything, which may sound annoying, especially first thing in the morning, but he was solicitous, friendly, and a font of local knowledge. Because of him, I learned that Ethan Allen named the Hero Islands after himself. That knowledge may come in handy someday if I'm ever on Jeopardy!

You get a lot of bang for your buck here.

“A little tired around the edges, but satisfactory for a one-night stay”

We were on our way to Montreal, and wanted to stay overnight in Stowe, to have dinner with relatives who live in the area. We made our hotel reservations late, and the date of our stay coincided with prime leaf-peeping season. The Season's Pass Inn was the only place with vacancies we could find in the area that was within our budget. Our reservation needed to be paid in advance, and was non-refundable. But it all turned out okay. Season's Pass Inn is an older place and a bit shabby/tired around the edges, on the outside. Inside, our room was small but very clean (including the small bathroom) and the owners were immediately helpful with any issues (like turning on the heat, as it was an abnormally cold night for October). A continental breakfast in the morning was beyond satisfactory. The husband & wife hosts were always present, friendly and helpful. The things that could have been better: (1) a tiny TV (only 13"?) in the room was situated on a dresser too far from the bed, (2) the wifi did not work in the guest rooms, only in the breakfast area/main room downstairs, and (3) the bedsprings were quite squeaky, but we slept well enough. All-in-all it was a satisfactory stay for us, for just one night while passing through, with an average value for the rate we paid.

“Under the expectations”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

The good side: big room, with a little kitchen. The breakfast is good, the coffee is good also. Wifi in the salon (but not in the room). The motel is in downtown Stowe. The owners are very nice.
Bad side: the bed was unconfortable, problems with the sauna and the water in the indoor swimming pool was so cold, impossible to swim.
But still, it could be a good place to stay for skiing.

“Dingy motel & unprofessional staff”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

This motel, in all ways, appears to be run down, dingy, and unappealing.
We were check in by a woman in a swim suit with hardly a word of greeting.
Apparently, she wanted to quickly get back in the pool. The stairs to the rooms
were almost scary, there was very little hot water for the shower, and the door
lock was difficult to open. The room was very small, but otherwise acceptable.
Definitely would not book there again!
