We were 2 families each with 2 adults in their early 30's and one 19 month old each. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit that was located on the 4th floor. We have read several reviews about the lack of elevators and I will confirm that there are no elevators and a lot of steps, which we had expected though. The unit had one bedroom with a queen bed and one bedroom with 2 twin beds. The queen bedroom had an attached full bathroom and there was a 3/4 bathroom ( no tub / standup shower only) in the unit also. Both bedrooms were small and there wasn't much room to move around, but we were able to move some of the furniture around and fit a pack n play in each bedroom. The kitchen was mildly dated with an older stove and newer fridge. The toaster didn't work and 1 burner on the stove didn't work, nothing that ruined our vacation though. There was a gas fireplace in the combined living / dining room. There was one pullout couch that we didn't pullout, 2 swivel chairs, and a 32' flat screen in the living room. Plenty of room for all of us to watch T.V. The dining room table had seating for 6. We had an outdoor deck that was covered with snow so we didn't attempt to use it. The lower levels had covered decks that were snow free. The indoor pool was not heated, but both the pool and the hot tub were clean. There were supplied towels in the pool house for guest use. The game room was weak at best with outdated games that didn't all work. It snowed twice while we were there and both times the walkways were shoveled and parking lots plowed and salted. Overall the unit was clean and comfortable and served our purpose for a week of riding the local mountains. The location was approx. 4 miles from Stowe Mt. and 3 miles from the Lower Stowe Village. There were plenty of places to eat and drink near the unit, but nothing was in walking distance in my opinion. This was a timeshare trade for us.

These are rental-by-owner condos so I can imagine that some units are better than others. We stayed in A102. Let's let the details speak for themselves. When we checked in, we were given one key and a promise to deliver two more which of course never materialized. When we entered the condo, we found: Cheap carpeting covering a lumpy uneven floor; cracks and sags in the low ceilings; exposed sprinkler pipes in the front hallway and bedrooms; broken window in the kitchen; a lamp with a missing lightbulb; several empty wall shelves and hooks that must, at one time, have held decorations. All three bedrooms are so cramped there is barely room to walk and entering the main bedroom involves a mini-obstacle course to first open the door then gradually close it as you simultaneously sneak around to the other side. That view of Stowe Village that you see in the VRBO photos? When I rented, I realized it's not the view from the condo but I didn't expect that the view from the window in the main bedroom would extend approximately 5 feet to the steeply sloped ground underneath the upstairs deck. We refused to allow our kids in the cloudy hot tub. The town and the skiing were fun. By all means, come to Stowe, but stay somewhere else.

This is such a great place to stay in Stowe. Not only does it have the convenience of being on the main street of town (Mountainside Road), you can also enjoy a large indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, and game room. You can easily take the Stowe Mountain Shuttle & yes, for free to get around town and of course up to Mt. Mansfield for great skiing with a great ski school for the young ones!!! The 2 bedroom unit was great with a gas fireplace with a lot of comfortable living space for the whole family.

The best thing about the Mountainside Resort is its location. The property is about halfway between Main Street and the ski area on the top of Mountain Road. There are many nearby restaurants, ranging from low-key, budget friendly (Rusty Nail, Piecasso) to more upscale fine-dining.

We stayed in a two bedroom that was located across from the building containing the indoor pool and game room. Although the unit was dated and could use some updating, it was comfortable, spacious, and clean. The kitchen was fully stocked and had everything you'd need for cooking / stocking most meals. There was a large private balcony that had great views. We enjoyed the indoor pool, although the temperature was very cold on a few of the days. The office stocked complimentary movies and board games that you could check out for free.

We've been to Stowe many times over the years and I'd definitely recommend this as a comfortable place to stay in a great location.
