“Rude Owners Not a Real B&B”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2010

When I said to the owner this is not a B&B , but partly a motel, they became very defensive. There were individual motel rooms as part of the Inn. That is where we were put. There was no cozy warm feeling about this place at all. It was not an inviting place to be. We were extremely disappointed. I left my phone charger there on the 16th of Oct. The owner said he would have UPS mail it back to me after I gave him my charge card number. When I called him today which is the 23rd he said he just mailed it the 22nd. I asked him for a tracking # and he rudely told me to get it myself. This is for my cell phone which is a business phone. I am very disappointed in the way I was treated.

“Breakfast could last all day !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2010

We spent 3 nights at this Inn in Stowe, and were very pleased with it. They had a very good deal whereby you got 2 nights for the price of 3 if it included a Tuesday - great if travelling in the fall foliage season. The owners also have a lodge (motel) virtually next door, but we stayed in the Inn, which was much better, and handier for breakfast in the morning. The room was large, with a big, comfy double bed, lovely ensuite, and plenty of tables and chairs. Room and house in general full of bears of all shapes and sizes, plus things to do with honey. (Inn name-Honeywood)
Most impressive were the breakfasts. First of all , tables seated 8, and everyone sat together, so if you want a snapshot of the US, this was the way to do it, as there were guests from all over the country. (but none from outwith the US in the time we were there.) Apart from the usual juice, cereals, fruit, there was always a choice of 4 cooked dishes, including such delights as waffles, pancakes, omelettes, French toast, eggs in all forms, etc. Portions sizes were enormous, and quality and variety was excellent. We never needed to eat again till about 3pm ! they were also quite willing to cater for special dietary requirements. We found we sat much longer than usual, as conversations were always very interesting.
The inn is located 4 miles up Mountain Road. Stowe village itself is some way away, but Stowe is a ski resort in the winter, so Mountain Road is full of eateries, hotels, shops etc. However, you really need a car at this time of year - the free shuttle bus only runs in the winter.
Bill the owner is very friendly and helpful, with lots of advice about where to go and what to see.
Missed the hot-tub others mentioned !

“Pleasantly surprised”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2010 via mobile

We found this inn by chance while visiting Ben and Jerry's factory. At first we were a little uneasy because we were the only ones there and because we were surrounded by woods. (We do come from the city).
I am happy to say that this inn met all of our expectations. Our host was very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean and big. The breakfast was very good and filling. The location is also beautiful. We were surrounded by beautiful trees that made out experience even better.
Cons:
1. Mattress was not as comfortable, may need to be replaced soon.

“Love this place!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2010

Definitely one of the best experieces ever - and we travel alot!! Carolyn, Bill and their son Trevor were gracious, accommodating and delightful hosts. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was superb - lots of yummy food to choose from. Great location and listening to the sound of the river every night was so soothing and relaxing - best night's sleep we've had in a long time. We will be back!

“So easy.....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2010

We have stayed at many inns/B&B's before but this one really is so comfortable in lots of ways : The location is superb between the mountain and the village. It is perfect for walkers... whether we wanted to walk on the" Recreation" path to Stowe (an easy graded path) or hike Mt.Mansfield and other nearby mountains, it was just a few minutes either direction. Breakfasts were another surprise.. a good one with delicious choices. Beds were most comfortable and the rooms and bathrooms spotless. We look forward to returning during the winter to ski.
