“2 Bedroom Condo was Huge, Great Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom condos. The price paid was only slightly higher than what we would have paid at off-mountain hotels a few miles down the road. The condo was really very spacious and had a full kitchen with fridge/freezer, stove/oven, wine fridge, dishwasher, garbage disposal, toaster, pots, pans, glasses... pretty much everything you would need.

The living room was nicely appointed and included a small LCD TV that had a food number of cable tv channels and music choice channels. There was also a shelf stereo system with 3 disc changer. The fireplace in the living room was wood burning and a wood pile with kindling was provided outside at the end of the condo row.

The two bedrooms were on the 2nd floor as were the two bathrooms. One of the bedrooms had an attached bathroom while the other bathroom was in the hall. We found the beds to be comfortable and the bathrooms, while dated, were clean and in working order.

Outside in the back was a deck which we didn't use and in the front there was an outside ski closet.

The ski-in/out aspect of this place isn't the best. Getting to the lift wasn't too bad, some flat spots. Getting back wasn't terrible either but the condos are not directly on any of the trails and require some off trail navigation to get back and forth.

Overall, we felt that we could easily spend a week without feeling cramped with so much space in the condo.

“Not even the bare minimum can be expected”

We had our wedding at Stowe Mountain Resort and given the amount of money we were generating for the resort, service for our guests and us should have been at least average. Much to our dismay, not even the bare minimum was provided. Some of our guests couldn’t check in until 5pm, an hour after posted check-in time! Even then, the rooms weren’t completely clean. Additionally, members of the wedding party were staying in one of the cottages that is part of The Inn and even though it hadn’t been used the night before, it too wasn’t ready or completely clean by 5pm. I suspect that most of the competent employees now work at the five-star Stowe Mountain Lodge down the road. Whatever the case, stay anywhere but here.

Our sincerest apologies that some of your guests experienced a delay at check in during a very important weekend. While we did experience some staffing difficulties, there is no excuse that as our guest you were impacted by them. We are pleased to announce we learned from our shortcomings back in March and have made the right moves in our Housekeeping Department which should prevent such an occurrence from happening again. This past holiday weekend for example, our rooms were ready for check-in as early as 11 am. I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly in order to fully resolve your concern and discuss a return visit. I think you will be pleased with the changes and upgrades we have made to the Inn and our rooms. I can assure you our team is committed to only Exceptional Service. Please feel free to contact us directly if you would like to further discuss your experience. We appreciate your feedback and hope to speak with you soon.

“Mold,Must,Mildew Oh my!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2011

The room was on the bottom floor, room 30. The room had a seperate bedroom, 2 TVs and 2 doors for bathroom, so every time you open one door the other slams shut waking up anyone who dares to sleep in the queen beds, I went in the bed i slept for twenty minutes, the musty mold smell so much i slept with my shirt over my nose. To rid the room of the smell we went to the store to get several air fresheners. Every five minutes i sprayed the room with clean linen smell and later lit a candle. Wen my family went to sleep i closed the curtains with my shirt over my nose. I attemped to sleep, but the musts so strong i decieded to sleep in my car.

“Great Service and Location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 March 2011

We got married at Stowe 10 years ago. Everyone stayed at the Inn and we had our small reception at the Fireside Tavern. We returned to celebrate our anniversary last week. The attention we received from the staff was excellent! They even offered to drive us up to the main mountain lodge so that we could be there for opening (the Inn's Toll House lift starts spinning an hour later). When I requested to borrow plates and champagne glasses, a staff member showed up at my room within two minutes. Everyone was so pleasant and made us feel welcome from start to finish. The mid-week pricing made it an affordable, yet conveniently located mini-vacation as well. The rooms were large, very clean and well maintained. We had a fridge and lots of space to spread out our gear. However, if you need a flashy new hotel, this isn't it. Little has changed in terms of decor since our wedding (and it needed updating then). But the bed was comfortable and the room had everything it needed. I have to agree with other reviewers that the continental breakfast was disappointing. There were the basics: juice, coffee, yogurt, bagels and muffins. A little fresh fruit and hard boiled eggs would have helped. Over the years, we've stayed at several other moderately priced inns in town. They haven't really been any nicer or less expensive and we couldn't ski right home. If you have lots of money (which we don't), you'll probably be happier at the flashy new Spruce Peak Lodge - it's gorgeous, but you'll even have to pay for parking. If you want a good value at an extraordinarily expensive resort, this is a great choice!
