Stayed here in september 2011 - it was the only place available - Phish were in town! and we were charged 175 dollars for the privilege.

We stayed in five hotels/motels during our stay in USA and I can honestly say that the Rodeway Inn was the worst.

I could list the things wrong with the motel but I think these have been said by previous reveiwers - had I read these before we would not have gone anywhere near the place.

I've watched this place deteriorate over the last several years. I have stayed here, and I've had friends and family stay here, but I would not recommend it now. Too bad, as it would be a convenient place for a reliable and inexpensive hotel on Shelburne Road. But this is not it, keep looking. It has deteriorated physically and in its management. Needed repairs are not done. The cleaning team is iffy. On one occasion, there was a peeping tom. I suspect it was an employee, from another country. Probably should have filed a complaint on that, but I just left. The neighborhood is not bad; there's a good bagel shop next door. In fact, this is the property bringing this stretch down. This is one of the hotels making the Rodeway brand a good thing to avoid.

1st room downstairs: smelled 'funny'. Pulled down bedcovers to rest after 6 hours of driving, and there was an army of ants walking across the sheets, under the pillows. Immediately went to the front desk (female there was kind, appeared disgusted at the report, and moved us to an "upgrade" w/o increased cost).
Upstairs room still smelled 'funny' but after checking the beds, had NO ants. Bathroom sink was not clean and sparkling, toilet flusher needed adjusting (ran-on after flushing) and fixed that ourselves.
This room had sheets on the beds that seemed NOT to fit, dirty blanket, and smelly bedspread.
We will NEVER stay here again.

The positive comments are that it was quiet and the desk person was friendly and helpful. The room smelled bad and the blankets were old and worn. The bathroom had broken tiles and dirty grout. The heating and cooling system was not working properly. I am a handicapped person and this was suppose to be a handicapped room. The only thing the room had was one handle in the bathroom to use to get into the shower. The doorway into the room had a step so wheelchair access was not easy, but it was great compared to the doorway into the bathroom which looked to be about 28 inches wide or less. The wheelchair could not fit in there at all. No shower chair was available. The code enforcement people for the city need to take a look and advise how the hotel should make some ligitiment changes.
