Desperately looking for a room on short notice for my trip to Vermont, I ended up booking at the Roadway Inn because the usual chains were booked solid as well as all B&Bs. I was skeptical when I called and they had availability since everyone else was booked. The pictures on the site looked nice but there were very mixed reviews that I had read. The price seemed a little pricey but I was desperate so I booked it. The cancellation at the period had already expired so I knew I was stuck with whatever I got. As I drove into Burlington I was getting very nervous at what I was going to find considering the other Roadway Inn's that I had passed on Route 7 coming towards Burlington looked a little run down. I pulled into the Burlington location and was very pleased with the overall look. It was not the Hilton but I was not expecting that anyway. The lady at the counter was very nice and was very helpful with dinner options for the evening. The room was average but had everything I needed...fridge, microwave, shower, toilet and bed. The bed did not look like it was going to sleep good but it was a very good night sleep. For the area, and season, I understand why the price was $159 but if this hotel were in my hometown, it would have been way over priced. I did not have the breakfast but when I checked out that morning it smelled like hot waffles and coffee. It looked like they had a lot to offer but I had my sites set elsewere for breakfast. I have never written a review before which explans the length of this one but I felt the reviews I read about this place needed an update. The folks writing reviews must be the ones looking for Hilton type ammenites. This is a nice place, well lit, clean, and the staff is nice. It was worth what I paid for the location. Give it a chance.
