We arrived around 5 or 6pm after driving all day from New Hampshire and after a lot of sightseeing along the way were tired. I was traveling alone with my children ages 11 and 9 who were ready to burn some energy in the pool. When we arrived in St. Johnsbury I made a R at the fork instead of a L so we got lost but when I called the front desk lady was very courteous and helpful. She was the same woman I had spoke to a couple days prior to confirm our trip and make sure that part of VT was spared from Hurricane Irene before I took my children traipsing across flooded towns. I was greeted by name when we got there (since I had just called...) and it was a quick and easy check-in. We got to our room and it was gorgeous and so so clean! The pool area was equally pretty and clean. The pictures online truly don't do this place justice. We went to the grocery store and got dinner to bring back to the room. It was so comfy there we felt like being "home" after our long day. As I said the kids were anxious to get in the water so we had our dinner at one of the patio tables at the pool and then they jumped in!
There isn't breakfast here and there are no coffee pots in the rooms but the office does have coffee brewed. There is also tea and cocoa. The "breakfast" served at motels isn't the kind of food I give me kids so we don't eat there food most of the time anyway, so this was not a drawback for me.
This was our first trip to VT and I'm pretty sure we'll be back within a few years and I have every intention of staying at the Holiday Motel when we do!
