“Incredible experience, amazing hospitality, dynamite service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 March 2010

We went for a week-long ski vacation. The rooms were elegant, and the service impeccable. The breakfasts were amazing--delicious food and more than you could eat and the paper on the table started the day off perfectly. (They were willing to package the muffins for a delicious lunch.) The one day there was over a foot of snow, there was total understanding of an "inside" day with all the warmth you could hope for. The rooms were large and immaculate, yet felt cozy and comfortable. The balance of maintaining an historic home and keeping this ease is managed constantly. The balance is evidence of their gift of hospitality. You do not want to miss this stop.

“Spontaneous trips are always the best ones.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2009

My boyfriend and I decided on making an spontaneous mid-week trip to Jay Peak during the Christmas holidays. The morning we decided to go, we called up Grey Gables Mansion and Debbie was super friendly and let us know that they had rooms available and we could come that very day with no problems. When we arrived much later than we had informed them due to snow, Tim and Heinz were patiently waiting for us to show us to our beautiful room and made sure we had everything we needed. Both Debbie and Tim were extremely helpful with recommending restaurants and thanks to their assistance, all our meals were incredibly satisfying! Everything was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

Thanks for the fabulous weekend!
- Carrie & Franklin

“Lovely autumn color and great breakfasts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2009

I have stayed here three times, in three different rooms. I love this place. It is so convenient to NH, and Canada. Nice and quiet. Love Heinz. The breakfasts are awesome and keep you going long into the day. Tim and Debbie and super nice people.

“Hospitality Reigns at Grey Gables”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2008

The Grey Gables was delightful. Tim and Debbie, the proprietors, were so helpful and welcoming, knowing just when to do every little thing. Our room in the front of the house was cozy and perfect for our visit to Northwestern Vermont. Our bed slept comfortably, and we had a private bath. For an old house, it was not drafty. We didn't feel the freeze outside on our first night. The park across the street was ideal for a sunset picnic, and the breakfasts each morning were tasty and piping hot. We were conveniently located to many of the area attractions and only 2 miles from the Canadian border. Oh, and Heinz was the best!

  • Liked — The convenient location
  • Disliked — The sink in our room was small.

“Home away from home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 April 2008

The house was a sight for sore eyes the moment we arrived. Tim and Debbie gave us a wonderful welcome and their enthusiasm for their historic home is contagious! Our ski day at Jay turned out to be a bust of an icestorm, but this still made a great place to come back to no matter what howling weather came our way. And homemade breakfasts were wonderful!
