My sister and I have just returned from a 4-day stay at the Grey Gables Mansion. What a wonderful experience!
When we arrived at the Mansion we were warmly welcomed by Tim, Debbie and Heinzie (the resident tail wagger). From the moment we stepped into the Mansion we felt comfortable and relaxed. The Mansion is very beautiful. You can just close your eyes and imagine being back in the 19th century. The room we had was large and spotless. The breakfast served each day was excellent. I particulary loved the apple walnut pancakes that Tim prepared. What a chef!
Tim and Debbie were very helpful in giving directions to the areas we wanted to see. Also they gave great tips they discovered themselves - antique stores and shops in several surrounding villages.
Grace and I sat downstairs in the Library with Tim and Heinzie - watching a great movie on the Sunday night we were there. That there was blazing fire to keep us toasty just added to the pleasure of the experience.
The adventure of visting and staying in the small town of Richford was everything we expected and more.
We went shopping and dining in Sutton a lively border town in Quebec, Canada just 10 minutes away from the Mansion.
We can't wait to return to visit again in each season. It's the best of all worlds.
When you visit, make sure to give a big hug to Heinzie (or Heinz as his is more formally known). He is the sweet, loving pup that welcomes you each time you come and go at the Mansion. He is reason enough to return!
