“An elegant restaurant serving outstanding food”

Had weekend dinner reservations in October and found the castle setting truly breathtaking. The magnificent restaurant is housed in a few of the mansion's formal rooms encased in richly panelled walls, lacey plasterwork ceilings and with elegant fireplaces that were aglow that evening. It is with pleasure to note that the food lived up to the setting and the price-fixed menu offerings were dellicious and the staff friendly and competent throughout. (The crab cakes, filet mignons, lamb chops, tuna, dessert selections did not disappoint). A special place for a memorable meal. Can't wait to return.

Lisa and Amy were fabulous !!! I was definitely "King of the Castle" for the week! Thanks so much ladies can't wait to be back in the fall

“Aveda spa on premises, some rooms nicer than others, food has suffered”

I've been going to the Castle for many years now. Many, many years ago, the restaurant was great and the renovation efforts on the rooms looked promising. Since then, the restaurant has taken a slow decline, service is spotty and occasionally arrogant.
The spa, although very, very small, is staffed by moderately friendly people and some good massage therapists (hit or miss, though), a conscientious aesthetician and a fairly good person in the salon. The only reason I continue to return is for the Spa as the prices for their services is very reasonable.

“The restaurant wait staff was Rude, Rude, Rude”

The wine selection was great. Ordered the price fix and the crab and corn soup was fantastic, the crab appetizer was good. However, the main course was poor. The lamb was overcooked and tough. Impossible to cut. Mostly certainly not worth the price. Would not recommend
