I spent the weekend at the Inn. I was met by the owners and they made me feel very welcome, almost like I was part of their family or an old friend.

The food was great, I was served with a tall cold glass of milk & warm choclate chip cookies for a night time snack, and then woke up to the smell hot pancakes and bacon cooking.The room and bed was very comfortable, but so are the couches and chairs in the living room.

If you are traveling to the VT Fire Academy, this is the place to stay, it is located a very short 5 minute drive from there.

When we arrived in Rutland VT at 9:30PM and discovered we actually had no reservation at the local Holiday Inn (had booked on line through Travelocity and the H-Inn said they had recieved no booking) the Inn reservationist was able to find us the last room at a very small B&B about 20 more minutes north of Rutland in Pittsford. We ended up paying about half what it would have been at the H-I and we had a spacious quiet and clean room with a very comfortable and a pleasent breakfast was included the next morning. Our hosts were wonderful and we enjoyed conversation with another couple who were visiting NE from Texas to view the fall foliage. It turned out better than our "spur of the moment" plans with the stay at Hol. Inn would have been. The Inn is a wonderful old (1800's) home with big tall ceilings, very clean and tastefully decorated, our room was on the second floor (walk-up) with private bath and a jacuzzi too. Our room was cozy, comfortable and nice and quiet. They accept cash or checks do not do credit cards. They have 3 rooms the rent out.
