Enjoyed dinner for 16 with my colleagues and our spouses on a beautiful Fall evening. The location on the shore of Lake Champlain in a classic Vermont village is picture-postcard-esque. The staff was welcoming and very pleasant and completely able to handle our large group (we had reservations in advance) amidst a flurry of Friday night in foliage season - and we even saw a seemingly larger group arrive and disappear into another of the restaurant's rooms. North Hero House features farm-fresh produce, locally grown beef, and Maine seafood. I enjoyed a bite of calamari appetizer and then the Brick Pressed Misty Knolls Farm Chicken Breast with pancetta sage pan sauce, mashed potatos, haricot verts, and baby carrots. Wonderfully cooked, artistically plated, delightfully served. All in an atmosphere conducive to enjoying one another? There's the recipe for a delicious evening.
