Needing a winter getaway, I searched the internet for an inexpensive place to stay. The Mount Tabor Inn had a special on a three night stay, and the location was good.
Nestled in the Green mountain National Forrest, the Inn sits along route 7. It is termed an Inn, but it's really a motel with outside entrances. The rooms are very clean, and there are a few perks. Free Coffee, a mini-fridge, satellite tv with plenty of movies. No phones in the room, but there is a Verizon tower close by if you have a cell phone. The view is amazing. Each morning I would wake up to the sight of mountains, and at night the stars light up the sky.
The location is quite good. I wanted to ski at a few nearby resorts and wasn't sure how far away they would be. I was surprised at how close it is. Bromley, Stratton, Okemo, and Killington are within a half hour. Manchester is about 15 minutes away, and is a really nice town. The people are very friendly, food is good, and it has a very artsy feel to it. I recommend Breakfast at the Rooster Cafe.
Celia, the owner of the Inn was very nice, and provided us with plenty of information about the area and things to do.
If you are looking for a four star hotel, then this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for a clean room, a great price, and a good location, then this is your place.
