“Great place to stay near Jay Peak”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 February 2011

Three day stay with family in three bedroom suite #12. Room was clean and comfortable with wood stove t keep us cozy.. Breakfast was bountiful and delicious. ( Great dinner as well. ) Hostess Debbie was friendly and hospitable. Discounted lift tickets waiting at desk, reasonable rates, 15 minute drive to Jay Peak. Only issue was some noisy pipes in the room and a door that blew open during the night. Overall a great place to stay in the Jay Peak area. We look forward to a return visit.

“Classic Vermont Hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2011

Excellent, friendly and attentive yet not intrusive service from the minute we arrived until the time we left from the owners and staff. Our room, suite #12, was exactly what we needed for a ski trip complete with wood stove, (3) boot heaters and spacious living area to relax apres ski. Breakfast every AM was tasty and a great way to start the day. Dinners were gourmet, delicious and well prepared!!!!! Tasty draft beers on tap at the cozy bar. The location is about 10-15 Mins. from Jay Peak, more than close enough to be convenient to the mountain. I would easily stay here again and would recommend it highly. You can't go wrong.

“No hesitating! You're going to Jay Peak? Stay there during your stay !!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2011

I booked a family suite at the last minute because my kid had a ski race at Jay Peak and everything else was booked. I didn't know what to expect, especially when you read so many positive reviews...! I was starting to think it was too good to be true, and that some of the reviews might be fake...
NOT AT ALL!!!
This is all true! Suite #12 is beautiful: the fireplace, the beds, the tub,...Everything is great and in good working order.
The hostess is very nice though very busy, and the maid/waitress is very friendly too.
If you stay there, you HAVE to have dinner there too!!! She is a GREAT cook!!! I still remember the Mint crusted lamb, the Pork and its Cider veloute, the upside down cake...
Breakfast is also a taste of heaven. No matter what you like, you will find it!
And if you see the homemade muffins, hurry up!!! They wont stay very long!!! We had the Chocolate chip tangerine ones, the BEST muffins of my life!!! And she was nice enough to let me copy her recipe!!!
PER-FECT !!!

“Truly a charming Inn - terrific service and a "foodies" delight”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2011

What better place to be then in this quaint and charming Inn. Wonderful food and terrific ambiance. Near Jay Peak, a skiers paradise in the east.

“Best B&B in Vermont!!!”

When my husband and I were dating I wanted to go skiing for valentine's day. He found a place that would guarantee snow!! I was amazed since there was no snow accumulation anywhere on the east coast. He found a placed called the Black Lantern Inn at the time now called the Montgomery House Inn and there was snow!!! We had the most wonderful time. The dining was wonderful, the service was great. the room we stayed in was perfect with a fireplace!!! We couldn't of asked for a better place. We have tried to get back there each valentine's and set our own tradition. We were so happy that it is still open and will try to visit in 2011. See you soon.

Regards, The Lienhards
