I'm sitting in my room right now, listening to pipes clank, the elevator, and people making their way up and down stairs with all their ski equipment. Neither I nor my girlfriend have gotten a wink of sleep in the past 24 hours, nor do we expect to in the next 12. We decided to go to the restaurant in the lodge since it was convenient, boy were we wrong on that one. First, we waited a good 15 minutes before our drink order was taken. After dinner, which I must say I did enjoy, we ordered 1 dessert and 1 after dinner drink. The dessert arrived, the drink, not so much. The waitress never acknowledged that she had forgotten it. Once we finally got the opportunity to ask for our check, we waited another 25 minutes at which point we had to approach one of the owners to remind them we still needed our check. When we received our check, it was incorrect. They charged us for two items that they don't even offer on their menu. At this point, we complained and they were nice enough to comp our meal. We assumed that from this point forward they would go out of their way to make the rest of our stay enjoyable. However, when we went to order drinks at the bar to bring back to the room, I waited 15 minutes before i was even acknowledged, then another 15 minutes to receive 2 fairly simple mixed drinks. There were no apologies made for yet another blunder on their part. At this point, we hope to make it through the night and out of this hotel as quickly as possible. While we appreciate the efforts of the owners, it is clear that they are not well staffed for the volume of business they receive which thoroughly affects the quality of service they are able to provide.
