“Annual trip to VT”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

When in VT the Inn at Ormsby Hill is the place to stay. The innkeepers, Ted and Chris, make sure that you have an amazing stay. You haven't had a breakfast until you have one of Chris's.
The food is wonderful and fresh. The rooms are all wonderfully decorated and cozy. My husband have made this trip for four years now. The second year we decided to try another B&B, we will never make that mistake again.

“Great little getaway!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We live in Northern Vermont but unfortunately, rarely get down into the southern part of the state. We took a little one night getaway to Ormsby Hill and had a lovely experience! The inn is beautifully decorated, and the guest rooms have lovely historic touches nodding to the history of the building while being filled with many of the modern amenities we have come to appreciate, like wireless internet, small flat screen TV's, I-pod docks etc. The Innkeepers Chris and Ted take pride in the little details too like cookies in the room, plenty of interesting reading material, and rubber duckies to float in the jacuzzi tub! The breakfast is not to be missed and was lovely in the windowed dining room surrounded by 3 inches of newly fallen snow! We will certainly go back!

Room Tip: We loved the Taft Room with its separate sitting room, wood fireplace, jacuzzi and steam shower!

“It doesn't get any better than this!”

Just stayed again at the finest inn that we've stayed in so far, the Inn at Ormsby Hill in Manchester, VT. We stayed once again in the Tower room, which is very unique in its design. It is a spacious room with a very, very comfortable canopy queen size bed and a cozy sitting area with love seat, wing chair, drum table and fire place. The bathroom, which is on a level of its own has an inviting jacuzzi tub and steam shower. We like that the room on its multi-levels has windows that give you views all around the building.

Chris's breakfasts are extremely scrumptious and keep you full all the way to dinner time. No where else have I ever had dessert after breakfast. I'm sure I gained a few pounds but they were worth every bite. Ted, Chris's husband, helps to serves breakfast and adds to the morning cheer. Both Chris and Ted take great care to making sure your experience their is nothing short of top-notch.

On this visit we went to see Hildene, Robert Todd Lincoln's Estate, which is very close by, walked around Manchester but also took time to just relax, reading and knitting in the beautiful conservatory just unwinding from the often stressful world we live in. There is much to do in the Manchester area as well. Whether you like to ski, shop the area's designer outlets, canoe or kayak the Battenkil, head to summer theater in Weston, eat at some fine restaurants, this is a perfect place to stay.

We are already wishing we were back there and hope to return again.

Room Tip: For a great view of the rooms, see the Inns website. Rooms look just as they appear in the pictures...

To have someone say "it doesn't get any better than this" beyond humbles us. Then to follow up with: "Just stayed again at the finest inn we've stayed in so far....". There are not enough ways to say how truly thankful and grateful we are, except we so look forward to your return.

“Simply wonderful”

It's a perfect place for couples on a romantic getaway. From my initial call to the end of our stay the experience and hospitality were amazing. The room we stayed in was perfect - romantic fireplace, comfortable bed, and wonderful jacuzzi. It was very clean, cozy, and well decorated.

The owners (Ted and Chris) were incredibly warm as well. Each breakfast we had was unique, delicious, and filling. We still remember how good the strawberries and cream were! Excellent coffee, too!

It was a great start to our holiday season and we will definitely return when we're back in the area.
