It was very difficult to find good information about Whiffletree when I was looking for a place.
Allow me to help future travelers with some quick pointers:
Location:
-- Everything worth seeing in Killington is right on Killington road. Whiffletree is about a 5 min shuttle ride down the base lodge - and about the same distance to the Wobbly Barn and the Pickle Barrel (must sees for night life). The shuttle picks you up right outside the place for free. There's a ski home trail that leaves you about 300 ft from the resort. The bars pick you up for free at night, and a ride back home in a cab is $4 per person.
With all this in mind - there's no reason to spend 25-50% just for location. The shuttle was very convenient and if you really wanted to you could just drive the 5 mins.
Cleanliness:
I was VERY concerned about this reading other reviews - but I have to say the other reviews were off base here. My unit was tidy and functional. The rugs outside the unit are exactly what you'd expect for a ski resort with people walking on them with Ski boots, but seriously nothing to get worked up over.
Size:
We had a 3 bedroom condo in building D. The bedrooms and kitchen were more than large enough. The living room was on the smaller side (could only fit 2 people on each couch, the other 2 people would have to pull up chairs). The unit could accomodate 6 people comfortably, 8 if you squeezed a bit.
Amenities:
The fireplace is gas (a bit of a bummer as I was looking for a wood fireplace) but it gives off plenty of heat. The unit had a TV in the living room and master bedroom. Stove and oven worked fine. You're not paying for a SPA here and you're not getting one either.
Other notes about Killington:
Baja Burritto is right down the road and has ridiculous deals from 3-6. Half prices burrittos and appetizers. The Pickle Barrell night club is a great time and there was a great crowd there on a Friday night.
