“Another great stay at Cascades”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

My group and I have just returned from another trip to Killington and Cascades, it was our 5th year at Killington and 4th year staying at Cascades, we typically mange to visit about 3 times a season.

Cascades has a great location about a 5min walk from the Snowshed lodge but if you don't have a car then you can easily get the shuttle bus aswell.

The staff are all very friendly from Pia & Amy at the front desk to Tim everywhere else. The accommodation is always very clean and warm and it's great to have the bar onsite if you want to have a few drinks après ski. It's also very nice to have a pool onsite and really surprising considering how reasonable the cost is.

I have stayed at Cascades when it's just my wife and I, to bigger groups of up to 10 people (including small children) which i organize and the only complaint i have ever gotten from the group is the taste of the water which can take a little getting used to.

Everything considered i wouldn't think of staying anywhere else when travelling to Killington.

“Will be back!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

My ski buddy and I had a great stay at Cascades. It's clean, comfortable, and in walking distance of Snowshed. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, but the price was right and the staff is warm and friendly. We'll be back!

“Mediocre hotel, great location”

I stayed here with two friends over New Year's weekend 2011/2012. The highlight of the Cascades Lodge is its location - across from the base of Killington mountain (it's walking distance but shuttles are available), and most of the popular restaurants are down the road about a mile. Everything else about the Cascades Lodge is mediocre, especially given the considerable cost. The decor and furnishings are incredibly dull and dated (there were two bowls of fake flowers at the reception area that were covered with dust), and although our room was spacious and clean, the linens were thread bare and the beds were rock hard. The free breakfast was a significant let down - the hot items were mostly inedible, so we stuck to cereal and toast. Note: This place seemed very geared towards families with young kids.

“Clean, comfortable ski lodge with attentive, keen to please staff”

It is our fourth year of staying at Cascases Lodge. From the very first time we stayed here we were made to feel very welcome by Pia and her team.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. Free wi-fi, swimming pool and hot tub. A nice bar area and lounge with comfy sofas!

Great location - walking distance to Snowshed, or there is a regular shuttle bus.

“Great Location - Mediocre Accomodations”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

We booked a mid-week ski and stay package through Killington in late January 2011. We chose Cascades Lodge as it appeared that they had everything that we were looking for. We wanted a hot tub, an on-site restaurant / pub and a lounge with a fireplace. On our first day we drove directly to the mountain and skiied prior to checking in. The temperature was 6 below zero but we were prepared and had a great day. After skiing we went to check in. The location is perfect as it is about 200 yards from the lodge and lifts. We got a room on the lower level. The room had two full size beds, a refrigerator, a small table with two chairs and a TV. It was somewhat rustic with a sliding glass door and you could hear people walking around upstairs. We went to the hot tub and indoor pool, which weren't bad. They were clean and after a day of skiing felt great. After showering we headed down to the pub only to find out that they only have a bartender on weekends. The guy at check-in offered to pour us a beer, which he did but we were somewhat dissappointed that the pub wasn't going to be open during our stay. The story was the same for the restaurant (only open on weekends) except for breakfast. After going out for dinner we retired to our room. The room was pretty cold and there wasn't any way to adjust the heat. We are used to the cold and keep our house at 60 degrees at night in the winter but this was cold. the temp. outside got down to about 20 below and we ended up stacking our bags in front of the sliding glass door and combining all of the covers from both beds onto one to keep warm. When we got up in the morning there was snow inside the room by the sliding door and it was closed. We mentioned it to the lady at the desk in the morning and she said we should have called. They have space heaters, and she brought one to our room. That did the trick and the rest of trip was enjoyable.
In summary the good things were the location, the hot tub, the breakfast. The bad things were rustic accomodations and not all advertised ammenities were open during the week.

Room Tip: Chose upper floor and if you have a problem call the desk.
