“Dont stay here!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

To start our friends who had a upstairs room found a mouse in their room, which when we told the front desk she said "ok" & handed us a trap. When the mouse was caught they wouldnt come to get it. Our room was in the basement, which had no heat and smelt like sewage, and cigarette smoke. Once again the response to our problem was "yea we know this place is old you know". The bathroom was unclean, there were holes in the walls & through the window. And the blanket on one of the beds had the edge chewed off. Also the wallpaper was falling off. Overall this place was discusting, way overpriced & had rude staff.

“We loved it and will be back next month!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2011

Beautiful place! We stayed at the campground at Cedarwood Resort and ended up spending most of our evenings at the lodge because the people were so friendly - the owners and the employees. The food was scrumptious and plentiful; the lodge, restaurant and bar was clean and inviting. The campground was surrounded by forest yet we had lots of open space for sunshine and great views. We spent our days exploring all there is to explore in the area - including riding the tram up Jay Peak, and our evenings at the lodge whether on the deck watching the sunset, or in the bar meeting other patrons. We are coming back this way in a month and have booked a camp spot!

“Worst place we have ever stayed!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2011

We booked this place for 1 night while we were travelling through and found it to be the worst place we have ever stayed. The room we had booked like nothing on their website. Our room was filthy, the sheets were dirty, the bathroom including the towels were dirty...everywhere was filthy. There was no air conditioning and the hallways and room smelled moldy. We ended up leaving the place at 11pm that night and went to the Jay Peak Resort which was worth the money we paid. I wouldn't even recommend this place to an enemy.

“Probably a great place back in the day.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 February 2011

My family and I stayed here on a whim last night with plans to ski Jay Peak in the morning..looked great from the outside. Once in the room it appeared clean but the wallpaper was peeling both in room and bathroom, stains on the lamp shades, the bathroom fan did not work, and the shower drain/spray were all rusty. In need of some TLC. For the price we payed for the room I expect more. The only good thing was the dining area was very pleasant for dinner, dinner was good and priced reasonably although the only thing warm at the buffet breakfast was the coffee.

“Great, friendly place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2010

I've now stayed at Cedarwood Resort at least a half a dozen times, so I decided it was time to review them online for other people to see. Some of the reviews they have gotten seem crazy to me. Maybe people not used to far northern Vermont. This lodge is beautiful. Very nicely decorated with all the amenities you could ask for in a Vermont vacation. I haven't stayed in a room I didn't like and they were all certainly updated, clean, and spotless. If there was a negative required for these reviews the only thing I could think of would be that the showers need updating. They are clean and perfectly usable they just need to be updated in the future. Most people who read this will be going up in the winter for skiing (the access road to Jay is less than 5 minutes away) but if you are there in the nicer months the grounds of the resort are just beautiful. Dinner was great with very reasonable prices and the bar was a lot of fun (just make sure it is open because of the different seasons). As far as the staff and owners you couldn't ask for nicer people. They have always bent over backwards to make my stay pleasant and have taken care of every request and concern that I have had (which haven't been many). If you are looking for a classic Vermont vacation you can't go wrong staying here!
