This bed and breakfast was great! Located just a few miles from the New York border and near a few college campuses, it was the perfect place to stay when visiting our daughter in college. The inn sits on a rural country road and is easy to find. It is clean, charming and quiet. We met one of the owners, who was friendly and helpful and who also served up a delicious breakfast the next morning. The rate also included complimentary water, soda, wine and snacks in the evening.
When we asked for dinner suggestions, he was honest in telling us what people said about the local eateries. We chose the Fair Haven Inn, which serves American, Greek and seafood, an odd combination we thought, but came with rave recommendations.
We were not disappointed - there were three of us and one had an American entree, the other, the Greek and the third had the fish. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our dinners. Prior, a unique appetizer was served, along with warm fresh bread. Wait staff were friendly and the atmosphere was both semi formal and relaxed.
Both the Maplewood Inn and the Fair Haven Inn restaurant were great; we would love to go back.
