“Good Value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

We tried out the Fullerton Inn as a good value that had close access to skiing. The hotel itself is beautiful and the lobby is nice with a fire going. The rooms are a bit small but comfortable. There are a lot of comments about the owners that we found surprising. We found them to be pleasant to talk to. We had appetizers in the tarvern one night and it was just us and the two owners in there and they seemed pretty personable, They accommodated any request we had so didn't see any issues. We did eat a full dinner one night in the main dining room and have to say that the food was very good. The restaurant was busy and the service they were able to keep up with the service level. We would eat and stay there again.

“Fleas in the bed”

The inn had fleas in the bed! Which resided in the old throw pillows. The heating was off during the day. Didn't eat here, and didn't experience the nasty inn keepers, but wold go bac. Wasn't worth the $280 for two nights. Would look else where.

“Love the Inn”

The Fullerton Inn is one of my favorite places to stay. I always find the owners friendly and pleasant. I visit the Inn at least once a year and I look forward to my visits. The Inn is quiet and in the winter the fireplace is always warm and welcoming. The owner serves a wonderful continental breakfast and I especially enjoy her scones! Looking forward to my next visit!

“VERY RUDE OWNERS!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

I booked a room online for one of our employees. We travel from state to state and do this everyday of the week. Unfortuntly there are times when flights are delayed and taxis do not show up when reservations are made. Things do happen. August 24th I booked the room with plans of him checking in on time an hour after flight had landed at 5:45pm. I find out at 2am, flight had been delayed, so no taxi to get from point A (airport) to point b (Fullerton INN) I called first thing Aug 25, and I apologized for the non check in, this lady was VERY rude, I explained the circumstances, and asked if I would be charged for the whole stay her answer yes! I could understand if it was the weekend, and I could of also agreed on a half price stay ect. BUT WHOLE STAY?? We will be traveling that way very frequently from now on and I would not recommend this stay to anyone!!

I have to respond to this. We are a Vermont Country Inn. We don't have a 24/7 front desk but we do live here and we will stay up for any guest coming in late. I will stay up to whatever hour if someone communicates with me. For this customer, I stayed up until 2 am waiting for his arrival and received no communication. Because we held the room for him we had to charge him for that night. And we did charge him for that ONE NIGHT ONLY. I am afraid that no one in this industry will release you from that first night's responsibility if they do not hear from you before hand. You can not call after the fact and expect to get a pass or a discount as he was proposing.

I can't speak to the "Very Rude" in capital letters. People tend to not like being told no and like to attribute it to rudeness. I was standing there when my wife spoke to this gentlemen and I heard her apologize to him several times but she held firm that the charge would have to be made. It was hardly rudeness. It is unfortunate that he had trouble with his travel arrangements, but I believe we were fair in our policy.

“The most rude Inn Keepers I have ever met!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2011

I recently stayed two nights at the Fullerton Inn for a large event, where the party occupied every room in the Inn. The lobby and dining areas of the Inn are cute and quaint, just as I expected from a Southern Vermont inn. The rooms are small and older, but I didn't have any problem with my actual room. What I did have a problem with was what I saw the next morning, as the house keepers were preparing to clean each room, they went up and down the hallways stacking up all the clean sheets that they were going to make the beds with ON THE FLOOR outside of the rooms... Disgusting. Even worse than the sheets on the floor was the hospitality. The Inn Keepers are a husband and wife team and they are both extremely rude. I had contact with both the man and woman on each of the days I stayed at the Inn and had NO pleasant experiences with EITHER of them. To top it all off, I felt continually rushed. I felt the party was rushed to an end, the doors were rushed to be locked, the breakfast was rushed to be over and we were rushed to have our rooms cleaned in the morning. I would not stay here again.
