I stayed at Hartwell for a short stop in Burlington. There are three guest rooms, all upstairs; bathroom is shared. Host friendly, good breakfast. The location is south of downtown Burlington, so it's close and accessible without being in the middle of the bustle. It's a short drive to the UVM campus.

We loveld staying with Linda in her lovely house which is full of amazing art and character. The best character of all is Linda! She is warm, accomodating, and boy can she poach eggs! Breakfast was lovely, and you were always asked what you wanted, so never felt you had to eat something you weren't too keen on. We slept so well! The garden out back is beautifully kept with a big, clean pool which we enjoyed as the weather was hot. Next time we come back we would like the bigger double room at the front. You can either get the bus from the end of Linda's street in to town, or walk (30 minutes). Burlington is a young, liberal, thriving city. We would love to return! We feel we have made a friend in Linda in this lovely city. Thank you so much for all your generosity and kindness.

We didn't get the normal B&B welcome tour, so were unsure where breakfast was served or if we had use of any communal lounge or not. Notices about rules were on notes about the house, but we missed some of them so it would have been nice to have been told instead. Breakfast was tasty and talking to the owners over breakfast and meeting the gorgeous dog made us feel more welcome but was too late.

I stayed here while moving my daughter back to the University of Vermont. It was an excellent deal for its wonderful neighborhood. Across the street from the busline, which takes you to UVM and Church St. The house has a beautifully maintained inground pool, which was just lovely to swim in. I enjoyed my hostess, Linda, her dogs, and the coziness of the house and my room. The breakfast was excellent. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a quality and economical stay in Burlington.
