“Perfect Getaway with Gorgeous Victorian Charm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Lang House was the perfect B & B in every way. The staff is friendly and incredibly helpful - their restaurant recommendations were spot on and they were more than accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and hearty, and the fresh cookies every afternoon (with coffee and tea always available) made Lang House feel like a 5 star home away from home. The B&B is located close enough to downtown to walk comfortably, and was the perfect location for us. We stayed in the Van Ness room, which has a sitting area in the turret of the house, with gorgeous views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks. The room was beautifully decorated and we wish we could have taken our pillows home with us! While there are fraternity and sorority houses all along Main Street, we didn't hear any noise at all - and it was Super Bowl Sunday! In addition to the coffee and tea, Lang House has a surprisingly robust wine and beer list and we had a beer sampler and a cheese plate in our room - which was a delightful way to spend a cold afternoon. We will definitely be back - and can't wait.

Room Tip: The water pressure on the third floor is a little weak, but the third floor is more private and has...

“Romantic Garden Room Cottage Charm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012 via mobile

Loves: Mary Engelbreit-type garden-themed decor; electric "wood" stove was easy to operate (with a toggle switch) & WARM; Jacuzzi tub with seperate shower; Honey & Chamomile bath products in room; extra large, thirsty towels in the shower/jacuzzi area; iPhone docking station (doesn't work with the 4 or 5 though); tiled entry area to drop our wet boots on; always had private parking available; morning coffee delivered to our room by the elusive coffee fairy; private breakfast dining in the well-preserved main house that EASILY accommodated our vegetarian needs...just let them know when they send your confirmation email; laid-back and generous hosting staff

We LOVED the basement room and got our belongings in with ease, however, if you're bringing heavy luggage, you may want to call when you're on the way to the inn and ask someone to shovel the walkway from the main house to the garden room if you plan on rolling your luggage down there if it's been snowing; the jets on the tub are POWERFUL enough for a much larger tub; the 1/2 bath could use a little more shelving space

Overall, we were pleasantly pleased by the value we got!

“Great place to ring in the New Year!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

This B & B was wonderful. The staff was friendly & overly accomodating. We stayed in the Galloway Room in the carriage house at the back of the property & on the first floor. Outside the door was fresh coffee & tea promptly at 7 am every morning. Not that I am up at 7, but it was there. The room was a good size, decorated nicely with a comfy bed & lots of comfy pillows. The private bathroom was spotless, with plush robes for the am. Room temperature was perfect, not too hot, not too cold. I think there was a thermostat, but didn't need to change it.

Proximity to Burlington Main Street (Church Street) is just a few blocks away, a nice walk down the street, and ideal. Not too close, not too far.
The main house is very tastefully decorated inside & out, and once again comfortable, with daily newspapers, good lighting to read them, and comfortable sitting areas.

As for the Breakfast aspect, the Lang House really shined, and went above and beyond my expectations. After receiving an email prior to our arrival asking if there was anything they could do to accomodate us from dinner reservations to dietary needs, I simply emailed that my wife is a vegan, and gave a couple of suggestions of what she might like. They were spot on, wonderfully presented & thoughtfully created. I thank them for truly going the extra mile. While I am a "megan" and eat anything put in front of me, my wife doesn't like to make anyone uncomfortable with her needs. With that said, she would gracefully accept toast with Jelly and be ok with it. For me, it's nice when I can get someone to "step out of the box" and surprise her. It allows her to truly enjoy all aspects of getting away too. Not only that, but each day the staff created & presented something different, unique & special. I can't thank you enough for pampering us & for letting us ring in the New Year on a great note!

Room Tip: Understand that ALL B&B's are 99% of the time regular homes converted & NOT hotels. Ther...

“Noise from Frats across the street”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

This is a very nice in, however if you stay in the room on the 1st floor your in for a lot of noise. You will hear the kitchen staff from your bathroom, the front desk and all guest in and out all day long. Every night we heard loud (what sounded like a fraternity party) across the street. I will say the room size is very nice and the breakfast was excellent and the sitting room for breakfast is very nice. The only problem was the noise. My husband proposed to me there (Spring '09) and we felt like the staff heard every word of his proposal... it was just a little awkward.

“Good location and charm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

We arrived late on a rainy evening and left reasonably early so didn't get the full benefit of hte inn, but it is plenty pleasant. The breakfast is quite nice with adequate choices for all. The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. Hotel is a short walk from the major pedestrian street which has plenty of restaurants. The town was generally more unkept than we expected in Vermont.
