This small 3-bedroom B&B tucked away off a small quiet lane was perfect for my family of 6 adults. The rooms were cosy and of adequate size, the beds comfortable and each room was peppered with small interesting curios. The Maple and Oak rooms share a bathroom (with a small jacuzzi) and guests in the Elm room have access to the shared bathroom. Most of the furniture is pre-loved and antique, giving the home a lovely cosy feel throughout. The owner was in the midst of installing WiFi during the week of our departure.
Vermont products are used throughout the B&B. Organic bathroom products add a fragrant and soothing touch. Local Vermont-grown produce is served at breakfast. We had fresh fruit, coffee, yogurt, Nutty Steph's granola, jams, croissants, scones, bacon and sausages.
The owner, Kay, is a lovely friendly lady who takes a real interest in her guests and chatted with us over breakfast. She also offered brochures and suggestions on what to do in Burlington and even where to park for free downtown.
Downtown is a short drive away. The University of Vermont and the Burlington Country Club are located within walking distance. Do note that the B&B is located on the one-way portion of South Prospect Street, so you will have to make a turn off S.Prospect as you are coming in, onto Hillcrest and again on Crescent, before coming back to S.Prospect where the B&B is.
We would definitely recommend On The Hill B&B to friends visiting Vermont.
