We stayed this past weekend, November 19, in one of the two upstairs suites (the whole house has only three rooms, so crowds will never be an issue). The Eddington House Inn is 150-plus years old (if I recall correctly) and has a real colonial charm. Our room was comfortable and cozy, the breakfast was decadent stuffed french toast, and crackers and cheese, and other sweets, were available all afternoon. We were able to walk a block for dinner, and the area is beautiful. It was a perfect getaway in a lovely Vermont community--and, as it happens, only a few miles from Robert Frost's gravesite, which is very much worth a visit.
Patti, the innkeeper, is a big reason for the charm of the Eddington House. She is warm and welcoming, generous in her service and availability, yet she is sensitive to privacy and seems determined not to be intrusive. It was great to meet her, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
