“Great stay!”

My husband and I stayed in room 1 at the Inn from Thursday February 2nd thru Sunday. We loved it. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and well appointed and the bathroom had a great big soaking tub. Almost more importantly, Lynn, the owner of the Inn was incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful. Other staff members that we dealt with were also nice. I would highly recommend the Inn and we hope to come back soon.
Debora Goldstein

Room Tip: We loved room #1.

“Fantastic stay, warm hosts"”

We would recommend the Four Chimneys Inn to anyone visiting Vermont. The rooms spacious and beautifully decorated. We stayed in room 1, it had a very nice marble bathroom with a chandelier over the big jacuzzi...very relaxing. We felt very welcomed upon our arrival and very much at ease throughout our stay... we both had a delicious breakfast in front of the fire. will definately return.

Room Tip: room 1 had a bunch of windows with the sun pouring-in in the morning.

“Beautiful B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

I stayed here last summer with my girlfriend for 1 night and it was great. It's a beautiful house, the room was large and comfortable, the breakfast was delicious. The innkeeper's mother I believe was taking care of the place while the actual innkeeper was away traveling or something, but she was friendly and accommodating and everything went smoothly. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend.

“Excellent Stay at a Beautiful Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

The first (and best) stop on our Vermont vacation was The Four Chimneys Inn in the village of Old Bennington. Our stay was everything we had hoped for and more! We were greeted with a warm and welcoming smile by the owner, Lynne, who showed us the lay of the land (ice, coffee, dinner recommendations, etc.) Our room felt clean and renovated, while still having the elegance of a beautiful turn-of-the-century mansion. We had a very comfortable four-poster king bed, beautiful, spacious bathroom, hardwood floors, cable TV, free wifi, free DVDs etc. Breakfast each morning was delicious and served in a lovely, sunny dining room looking onto the snow-speckled grounds. Breakfast consists of your choice of several straight forward country-breakfast items such as buttermilk pancakes, eggs and potatoes as well as a more decadent blueberry French toast (which was fantastic!). Perhaps not as foofy as some other B&B’s breakfast fare, but we liked the simple deliciousness of it all and we liked having choices. And you get to sit at your own private table! We found the innkeepers, Lynne and Peter and the staff to be welcoming and helpful ambassadors of the area without being pushy or intrusive. Upon departing, Peter gave us a map and highlighted the must-sees on our way to the next stop on our journey. (Note that a few historic sites (Robert Frost House, McCullough mansion are closed in the winter.) We would definitely recommend the Four Chimneys Inn as a must-stay when you visit Vermont!

Room Tip: We peeked in several rooms and were surprised at how spacious they all were. Ask for one of the room...

“House is Grand”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

We stayed here during "off" season. Finding the entrance (which is behand the house) is a bit of a challange. Room was really nicely laid out, with everything you could possibley need. This is the first bed and breakfast we have stayed at the had "tip" reminders everywhere. That was a little off-putting. The host was friendly enough when we checked in, but we did not see him or his wife much after that. They live on-site with their 2 year old son.

Breakfast the first day was OK, better on the 2nd day when there were more guests.

As we do at most bed and breakfasts, we asked for local information. Usually get many valid options for exploration, but not so much this time. One other item of discontent, the coffee, water, service was frequently missing from the hallway.

All in all, not a really warm place, but the facility is very, very nice.
