“Better than I expected!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2010

For a cheap hotel, this worked out real nice. I stayed here for a ski weekend. It's an older motel, but I liked it. Bed was comfortable, room was clean, bathroom could use updating (dim ighting) but had plenty of hot water. Room was warm enough (winter trip). Continental breakfast was simple stuff, but fresher than I expected ! Staff was friendly.
If you like things top notch, you won't be happy here (or at any of the nearby older (lower-priced) hotels. But I was happy with a simple, good night's sleep.

“Still has room for improvement”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2010

The room felt and looked relatively clean. There was a fresh coat of paint on one wall but the other wall had cheap wood panels which darked the room. Did NOT smell musty when I walked in. I suggest they get rid of the plastic flower arrangements. They are dusty and do not add anything to the decor except tacky. The bed was comfortable the pillows were not (foam?). Did get a nice range of TV stations. I liked that there was a small table and 2 chairs in the room so I could read or watch TV with out sitting on the bed. Bathroom tired, one light was out. Could use an updating replacing tired tile. AC worked fine. Had a fridge which is always a plus. Coffee maker in room. Shampoo and soap supplied in bath. Location on RTE 7 2 miles south of town away fom the hustle and bustle. Quiet at night no road noise. Apple Barn right across street with bakery, cheese, maple syrup and apple products. Did not try breakfast. Pool was closed and covered but I did see picnic tables in back of the motel and badmiton rackets for guests to use which is a nice touch. Not a first class resort but the price reflects that. It was safe, quiet and pretty clean which was all that I was looking for. Plus when you step outside of the room you do see the beautiful mountains in the distance.

“Good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2010

We stayed at this older motel located along Rte 7 just South of Bennington, VT. The rooms were clean and the mattress was firm. The motel is past its prime and some of the advertised amenities are no longer available, i.e. swimming pool. The complimentary breakfast was minimal, but there is an excellent bakery across the street with fresh baked goods, VT products and Green Mtn coffee are available.

“Nice enough...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2010

My five-day stay was quite pleasant. The 1950's-era motel was clean and priced right, the mountain view from the room soothing. The motel's located out in the countryside but in reality is only a two-minute drive from downtown Bennington. This vintage motel is a little frayed around the edges (but what isn't in Vermont?!) and the pool was closed in July. Amenities included Wi-Fi, along with HBO, microwave, mini-fridge, a modest breakfast. A nice touch were the badminton and croquet sets. The bed and furniture was comfortable and in good condition. The a/c worked just fine. I wished for a bit hotter water in the bathroom, and the intruding light from the all aglow Coke vending machine outside my room was a little annoying. The manager and his family were friendly and helpful.
