“Nasty Nasty... unless you are a dust mite!”
Motel 6 Woods Cross Utah, I tried to imagined myself as a Dust Mite and this helped ME make it through the night.
The host at check-in was really very friendly, and she offered me a AARP discount, of which I am eligible but always forget to ask. She was so nice and friendly, sweet actually, so much so I was anticipating a very high quality, super nice room… WRONG!
Dust and dirt was everywhere, the luggage rack was filthy, and two back legs of the suitcase floor stand were absolutely white, covered with dust. The TV screen was smudged and the speakers has dust caked in them, at least I think it was dust in the speaker grill.
The carpet was as dirty as I have ever seen, like a dirty old garage floor. I took a washcloth and wiped down the headboard which was a little sticky, and just to see if the carpet was stained or had just had residue I ran the wash cloth over it, and it turned it a light brown and, was as dirty as it was stained.
It was dark when I checked in so I didn’t notice the dirt piles and cigarette butts until in the morning, I counted over 45 in front of my non-smoking room, and another 25 in the grass, I doubt they have ever picked up the area or clean the parking lot or grassy areas in front of the sidewalks.
I open the window and it looked like a soda had been sprayed all over the top half of the window, which was really smudged and needed cleaning.
This was the worst Motel 6 I have ever stayed in, and as I was leaving I watched the maid take the linens from another room and throw then underneath the stair well, (instead of placing them in the cart which was right there?) I walked over and looked at the filthy sidewalk underneath the stair well, it was covered with stains, cigarette butts, sticky spilled sodas, old chewing gum, and who knows what, I went to take a picture but my camera’s memory was full.
I filled out the complaint card, which had been used as a tissue; I handed it to the manager as I checked out (with a old dried booger circled on the card) I told her the condition of the room, she didn’t believe me. She stood there smoking with another woman at the entrance to the front of the office, where an ashtray that was nearly full of half-smoked cigarettes had been placed, (an attractive first impression.) She put out her cigarette as I offer to show her the pictures, and as she looked at them she got this rather exasperated, sinking look on her face.
I only wish I had more memory to take more pictures, but as you can see, I too had already seen enough. A really NASTY motel, perhaps that was why it was only $29, a place every dust mite can afford and still have money left over for that special satisfying cigarette afterwards.
