A friend with a smart phone booked a room @ Wendover, UT Days Inn enroute from western NE.
POSITIVES:
They were the only motel contacted willing to supply a rollaway bed. It was in the room when we rolled in around 1:15 a.m. The exterior of the Wendover Days Inn was attractive, but the interior left much to be desired.
NEGATIVES: The hallway carpet on both floors was filthy, much in need of replacement. The complimentary breakfast was but a joke. The counters, tables, and chairs were lousy with crumbs, syrup, styrofoam plates/cups, & plastic silverware. Little food (beyond stale slices of bread) was available by 8:30 a.m. Coffee was available behind a pile of trash left by early bird diners. Trash & cobwebs were discovered under the beds below the headboards. We searched under the mattresses and between the sheets for bedbugs, but found none.
Overall, this Days Inn did in a pinch, but their weekend rate was $10-15 more than what most of the casino hotels were charging across the border in Nevada. Good idea to book a room in advance rather than try to find something an hour before arriving.
