“Over priced, and horrible staff.”

Wow, where do I begin? We had bad experience after bad experience with rude, snobby staff. My wife asked for a crib the first evening, and the woman behind the counter literally, rolled her eyes at us, sighed, and said "I think it is downstairs, I guess I will go look". You guess? Seriously? The next day my daughter left her shoes in the pool room and by the time we noticed, the pool room was closed and locked. We had to go ask this same lady at the front desk if she could get them. Again, she acted as if it was a huge inconvenience, and as if she really didn't know what to do about it. She said she would try to find someone with a key and bring to our room. She never did. The pool opened at 7:00AM (I believe) the next morning, and when my daughter went down there around 10:00AM to go look for her shoes herself, there were still there. Right where she left them. That lady made no effort at all to help my daughter get her shoes back.

The second day we didn't leave the room until 2:00PM. The maid came around about 1:00PM to clean our room, so we told her we would be out in an hour and she could come back then. At 2:00PM we went to the pool for a few hours, and when we came back the room was still not cleaned. Not a big deal, but when we left for dinner at 6:00PM we asked them at the front desk to clean our room while we were gone. They said "No Problem". When we got back at 10:30PM, again, the room was still not cleaned.

We were there for a total of 3 days, and we had to get our keys reprogrammed 4 times during our stay. Each evening when we came back to our room, and twice on our third day, our key would not open our room door. We had to go back to the front desk each time and have them reprogram our keys. It is super annoying when you bring your 3 wet, cold kids back from the pool, and your key doesn't work, again.

Our first morning, the front desk called and woke us up at 8:30AM asking us to move our car to the upper lot so they could plow the lower parking lot. I moved our car to the upper lot, which is an annoyingly long walk when it is icy and 5 degrees, and instead of being able to go back to bed, I had to deal with 3 kids who were now awake from the phone ringing and waking them all up. Thanks Sherwood Hills. A few hours later I went out to the car to get another bag, and the now empty lower lot was still not plowed, and there was no plow anywhere to be seen. I am glad they felt the need to call us all and wake us up to move our cars, and then not even plow. Thanks again.

The hotel itself was decently nice, but definitely over priced for the quality. The location makes it almost worth it, but the horrible, rude and just mean service we consistently received just ruined it for us. I will never go back.

“Not Quite What I Expected”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2010

We wanted to spend a a couple of days in a really nice place. My daughter suggested Sherwood Hills Resort. We arrived during a bad snow storm and the roads had been cleaned earlier but were now very slick and hard to drive on. When we finally got to the hotel, they informed us that the guy who plows the road had left for the day. Our room was nice but just about average for a room in any 3 star motel. They rented the room above us to a family with noisy children who kept running and making a lot of noise. But the bad thing was, that family checked in really late at night and we were trying to sleep. We did enjoy the two person jacuzzi tub. The furnishings were a little outdated. The beds were not that comfortable and there were not many selections on the TV. The view was beautiful with all the snow on the evergreens and hills.

The next day we went for the Sunday brunch. The price was very good and we got a discount. Later we went to the pool and hot tub. They had two hots tubs, one was cold but the other was really nice and had a waterfall. The pool was large and enjoyable. The staff was friendly.
We stayed a second night and we did receive breakfast free in the dining room. However they did not have many choices for beverages and the waitess kept coming back and telling us that they did not have what we ordered. She did not seem to know exactly what they had and there was no coffee creamer only dry creamer. The waitress was very friendly however and tried to accomodate us the best she could.

The main complaints we had was: The TV choices were very limited, there was no room service. the rooms were quite old and even the clock in the room was the wrong time which made us think that nobody had been in that room for some time. The dining room was beautiful but lacked choices on the menu. We thought price was a bit much for what we got. The resort is located in the mountains where it is very snowy. The staff should plow the road more often when it snows. Even so, I would recommend it for the scenery and pool alone. But make sure you don't pay the price of a 4 or 5 star hotel because this one is not.

“AMazing Resort!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2010

We were very well taken care of at this resort. The pool is beautiful and my kids loved every minute of their time! The room was great- kids loved the bunk beds! We were promised a microwave and there was not one in the room... one call to the front desk and we had a microwave within 10 minutes! The staff was very kind and considerate of all our needs! Thanks so much- we will be back!

“Honeymoon blah....”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2010

Needed a place for our honeymoon on route to the real destination. My sister recommended it (she stayed there 9 years ago). When we arrived my new husband informed me he would take care of it. When we opened the door we found that it WAS not what we expected. Outdated, overpriced, and poor service. The tub was cool, but old. For the same price we could've stayed at anniversary inn -Where breakfast would'nt cost extra or just drove to brigham and stayed at the crystal inn..... Very sad at check out when we weren't even asked how our stay was. As a new bride, little bummed at that night being that spendy without much splendor- good to say the rest of the honeymoon was FANTASTIC!

“Trip for wife's birthday and she did not sleep well.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2010

The main thing that stood out to us was the mattress - very firm - would have gotten pretty much the same amount and quality of sleep if slept on the floor. That is probably the most important thing in a hotel stay - why else do we get a hotel? Also, there were a few stains of some type on the ceiling. A small thing but noticeable. Also, the light bulb was hanging weird from the partially dangling socket in the lamp next to my side of the bed. Safety hazard?!?
